We finally took our Bighorn on a trip after having it since 12/2010 and are taking notes on what we find.
1. SHower leak- needs additional silicone caulk. Found an area uncaulked. No big Deal.
2. Bedroom slide at home went in just fine but when set up in RV park it struggled going out?
3. Slide out on passenger side gouged the lenoleum floor. Not sure what to do here?

So far everything else works....whew.

We are planning a 500 mile trip Oct 1st, and everything has to be right.

My f350 averaged 9 mpg as well and I really like the way the 5th wheel tows. When big trucks come by they don't blow us all over th road like when we were in our 28 ft tt.

My door side slide gouged the floor after having the plastic kit installed. The bottom corner trim piece was sticking down at the front end. I took a pry bar and bent it back up and then filed it up aways. You should have the slides looked at by the dealer they might need adjustment. I studied the lippert site and adjusted my own and from what I've seen I didn't do too bad. After you get them adjusted right you need to run them out and in at least once every couple of weeks to self lube them. Glad yours tows good too. Lately the quality of the fuel makes it hard for me to average it out. Sometimes better and sometimes worse. Good luck Tom M.

My 06 had same problem, can't speak to the other issues.  My other major issues were springs, which I have solved. I know other brands have problems also. I guess we are just expected to lower our standards and accept lack of QA.

Looked under master bedroom bed wondering where all the hot air was coming from.....

We found it. The rubber wiper seal was hanging off and letting in the hot air. No wonder the a/c 's were running so much. it was a direct opening to the outside and also it allowed some beetles to come in our bedroom and fly around......

just wanted to look under the bed where those wires run to make sure they were no problem. learned that from a Forum member.
It was also amazing how dirty it was under there.

I don't know how in the world the dealer is going to fix that wiper seal. It is too small for any of the fat techs they have!

It ought to be neat ....

Well got our BH back from the dealer and looked at the rubber seal underneath the bed and they did a good job.
One thing they did is they turn the hydraulic valves off to where only a single slide out would go out and I thought I had a new problem. Got it figured out and turned the valve back on so both slide would go out now. Whew!

Decided to check out above bedroom I mean since underneath had a problem.

The wiper seal on top was off just like the one underneath so I decided to replace it myelf.

It took me 2.5 hours just to get the sticky rubber tape remains off using GOO be GOON.

Then I put new 5lb strength double sided tape and put it better back on. It was tricky to do that.

If you get up there and check this seal and need instructions on how I did it let me know.
