Front pin weight

Does anyone know the pin weight on a 2015 Cyclone 4100 ? Thinking about putting air bags and a on board compressor on my F-350 Ford i've been told it will help out. THANKS

I also am looking into adding air bags mainly just to take some of the stress off the leaf springs. Leaf springs will fatigue over time, especially hauling a 5th wheel. What brand are you looking at?

The empty pin weight spec is 3,000 lbs. But the actual will depend on what options you add and what gear you stow. For planning purposes, you should assume 20% of GVWR. The 4100 has a GVWR of 18,000, so 20% is 3,600 lbs.

Not a 4100 but I just weighed my 4200 and my pin weight was approx 3800 vs the 3500pds listed by the manufacture and we were approx 3rd loaded weight(clothes and food).. SOme say you may not need them but they can only help and there a cheap , $, investment..

With generator and full load of water you can easily approach 4K. I had 4 6V batteries and was a little over 4K.

On a Toy Hauler I would adjust that number to 25% for calculating truck needed. My 3418 has GVWR of 15,500 and a pin of just over 3400 loaded but with nothing in the garage. My 600+ lb bike will help when I load it. Aggravating as HL publishes no spec's for the 3418 except GVWR.

Is there anyway to calculate how much a toy/golfcart in the garage will help alleviate weight on the pin besides going to the scales? My golf cart weighs approx 1k...

My 2009 Cyclone 4112 GVWR is 20,400. My loaded weight, including the Smart car and other gear in the garage, is 19,600. The pin weight is 3,400.

Yep, ~17.5% that anchor in the back sure does help. Mine is at 24% with an empty garage. (14,100 trailer)

Hopefully when I get the bike loaded it will help mine out as I'm over a little on RAWR. I have already put the truck on a diet (non slider hitch) and moved heavy stuff to the back of the trailer. Once I get it all done I'll reweigh and see where I'm at.

Do you know what your pin weight was before?

Without the Smart car, the pin weight was 3,600 and the trailer GVW was 17,800 with 20% pin weight. (RVSEF weighed on 8/6/2010)

The heaviest weight ever recorded was 19,750 with a pin weight of 3,750 back in June 2011. I downsized after that by implementing a new rule. If I hadn't used something the past 12 months, I got rid of it. I also removed a bunch of books and purchased Kindles for reading. I still have to deal with "Lucy" collecting rocks;).

Good choice. The on board compresser is awesome. I routed my switch to the inside center console. Super simple.

I have a pancake compressor in the 5th wheel to air up/down the 12 tires I have rolling. It's hard to find road side air that will go above 100psi. Also serves the air pin box, and the two air bags. (both at 80psi) No need for another compressor in the truck.

Don't know the Ford, but on my Chevy without the bags I was riding on my "helper" springs which are quite stiff, and it was squatting. (Oncomers flashing headlights at me even though I did not have my brights on). With the bags at 80psi the truck sits perfectly.

Based on my trip to the scales my pin box comes in at 3800# with a moderate load of miscellaneous stuff in the garage.
