Has anyone camped around the Great Basin National Park in NV? I've tried, in vein, to locate campgrounds around or near the Great Basin. Reviews from everyone that has ever stayed in Ely, NV has said to keep moving on, but to where. Nothing else close that I can tell. Would like Electric and water if possible, dump station would be great also. Looks like a nice place to visit, but ??? Thanks to anyone that has any suggestions!

There are a couple of trv parks at Wells NV. One right off the exit along I80 on the south. We overnighted at another north of I 80 1/2 mile or so. Small clean quiet new owner. Mountain Shadow RV.

Last summer we stayed overnite at the Prospector Hotel & Casino in Ely. Full hook-ups and no frills and the price was right ($17). Would definitely stay there again, however I doubt we will be passing that way again. Check it out at rvparksreviews.com.

There is a place right on the Nevada/Utah border on highway 50 called The Border INN. It is a motel /gas station / casino / RV park. It is very close to the national park. The RV park is not the greatest but it ain't all that bad either. We stayed there when we wanted to visit the Park and travel on the loneliest road in America. For a night or two, it will do.

We have stayed at the KOA in Ely. It wasn't terrible. We have kids though and enjoyed the playground and they had an outdoor movie. The staff were friendly enough.

I will tell you though, that we are the type of people that enjoy a small town. Ely is definitely that. :)
