heat pump w/solar charger

We ordered a new Cyclone 3850 with the heat pump option and solar charger. When I asked the fellow doing my walk through how it worked
he said he had no idea and had not heard of it before ? I have the heat
pump but how do I know if I have a solar charger?

Not sure if I understand the question, but I would say look on the roof for a solar panel, and you should easily be able to tell if you have a solar charger.

The solar charger should be mounted up on the roof. The solar charger is intended to send a "trickle charge" to your battery. Mike

I tried ordering the heat pump A/C and was told it was not available due to the Dometic fire.

I ended up ordering heat strips for the A/C unit - which the dealer forgot to order

And when they did order them, they forgot to order the thermostats required

I am still waiting to get everything finished - wasted weekend in Elkhart.

Find out after the fact that there was a NASCAR race nearby and a fairly large county fair ................................................

We had ordered the couch from the 3950 instead of the theater chairs
that come in the 3850. Dealer said it would be ready the 15th. Was not
ready until the 19th. Luckily I could stay in the trailer while waiting.
I have the thermostat for the heat pump and heat pump works but may
have to get on the roof to check for a solar panel.
When I first speced the trailer out there was a question if the heat pump
was going to be available because of fire at plant.

Since the heat pump was iffy we just figured the heat strips would just as good if not better.

Now, if only they had ordered all the parts when the strips were ordered - after I made the 800 mile trip.

Thanks Mike, It has been too hot here for me to go on the roof and see
if there is a solar panel. There is no wire going to the battery other then
the single red cable ?? Would the wire go somewhere else?

Dometic no longer offers the solar panel with the heat pump .
