Hott rod question.

I converted my water heater to electric with a hott rod. My question is will the rod heat the water when I am towing my camper? When I bought the camper the dealer told me I have power to the camper when I am towing, and that helps keep the battery charged up. I leave water in the heater tank so burning up the rod shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.

Your tow vehicle provides 12 volts DC. The Hott Rod requires 120 volts AC.
So unless you have an inverter, the answer to your question is no.
