How to obtain A/C Return Air Filters/Retainers

I'm trying to find the A/C return filters. I have 7 returns, but only 3 of them have the hold-down clips and filters. The dealership claims they contacted Heartland and they don't know how to get
any (really?!). Anyone have advice?

Are you trying to find the filters, or looking to replace them? I don't know where they would be located on a Landmark, but if you are looking for replacements, I was recently at an RV dealer, just looking at what they had in their parts store, and they had some. They weren't round like the ones in your pictures, but all you would have to do would be to use the ones that you have as a template & make new ones. Also if you are looking for replacements, if they are just dirty, all you have to do is wash them with soap & water, make sure they are rinsed out good, let them dry & reinstall them. I've washed ours several times in the past 3 years & they are still going strong. Just be careful & don't rip them!

Re: A/C Filters

It's the hold down clip I'm really trying to find. All the vents are the same...just the return side has the additional clip to hold the filter material in place. I'll call Heartland directly on Monday.

Re: A/C Filters

It looks like the return side is the only one that should have a filter.
Just like your stick and brick home.

Landmarks have a different type of ducting....there is no grate inside below the A/C...one side of the system has a series of round vents that "drop" the cold air. The other side has a series of vents (7), which all should have removable/cleanable filters. It comes standard with two 15k A/Cs which share the entire duct system.

This system was introduced in 2013.

I got a hold of Heartland customer service today and they said they would ship out the filters to me!! Very easy compared to my dealership.

That's exactly why I love Heartland Customer Service so much!! I've always had great service from them, no matter what the issue is.

This must have changed for 2015 because our duct work only blows air in that area. The living room AC will not blow any air out the bedroom vents and vise versa. I know others have reported the same thing with their 2015 models. This makes it very hard for us to share the load on the AC system. I would love to know why they changed this.

I can't say this with any certainty, but I'm wondering if the floor plan in the Grand Canyon precludes the upper level and lower level AC ductwork to be connected?

Can you take a look at where the bathroom vent fan is located? Is it located inline with the AC run? If so, this could explain why they may not be connected. I'm trying to get clarification from the plant on this.

The bathroom vent fan is inline with the AC duct work but I believe in another post there were a couple of other people that had different floor plans that had the same issue with theirs.

Re: A/C Filters

Well, Heartland shipped the wrong type of vents. They cannot locate the correct ones even though they have the model installed on my RV. I located the correct vents, with the correct filters, on Ebay and bought them. It cost me $20.

Re: A/C Filters

Rex, does your unit have the 6" round vents? If so could you post the link to the Ebay add or PM me with it? I would like to get a couple of extras to carry. I can see where the flimsy filter retaining clips will break at some point. Thanks

Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to make sure these fit before I posted a reply.

These are 7" vents. I measured mine and they are about 6 3/4 inches and fit perfectly. I noticed there is only one left on EBay, but here is a link to the vendor:
