Plan was to start here on Dec 1st but weather in MI got worrisome (snow is forecasted for tomorrow) so we headed out last Mon and arrived here Wed. Were planning to leave last Sun but held off considering horrid storms that day.
Just thought we'd pass on how well it's gone with the new 2014 BC. This is our first major trip with it and this trip is the reason we upgraded from the 2010 BH.
1. It just tows like a dream. The BH did not - we had the Trail Air/Tri Glide and whenever we went over bad bridges in GA and FL it would practically throw us into the back seat. The BC just floats over these. The only real movement we felt was when the road was very rough and then we could feel the truck's air bags compress. The BC has a Mor/Ryde pin box. Prior when we went to FL we would be exhausted by the time we got to a destination. Not an issue at all this time. Only issue we ran into when traveling was that the wine rack in the kitchen came loose - staples and nails came out. Towed so smoothly that coffee pot and toaster barely moved (we don't put these away). Even the table cloth stayed on the table.
2. Really like the BC layout - full sofa, moveable island, mega bath, two linen closets, etc. And exchanging/modifying the bed from king to a queen has made the room so much easier to function in - esp. when making the bed - can actually pull sheets and blankets all the way to the top of the mattress. We're glad we didn't order this from the factory as they would have put shelves on each side of the bed (we ordered a queen for the 2010 BH) which are very narrow (can hold a kleenex box...) - don't miss these at all. We placed a sofa table (same as LM's) next to the slide fascia and coupled with the shelf on the closet fascia we're a-ok.
The layout also worked great for pit stops along the way. Kitchen area and bath were totally accessible - this was one of the major reasons we selected this layout.
The entertainment center is working out well for us. We set it up so that the computer is stored in the cubby to the left of the pull out drawer - we had put in accessibility holes throughout so that cords could be put in that area as well. We can either use the computer as a laptop or use the TV as a monitor with a wireless keyboard.
3. Options at build and afterward have more than met our expectations: especially the 4 door refer, dual AC (we are using the AC today - using front AC to cool entire coach), electric fireplace (helped heat up the coach at the first stop), G rated Goodyears, Level Ups (another ), Directv Traveler, Smart Light, and moveable AC vents (closed these as we headed south - could feel a difference).
