Debbie, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s business. Several members did not approve of her extra-curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Bill, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.
She emphatically told Bill and several others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing. Bill, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn’t explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.
Later that evening, Bill quietly parked his pickup in front of Debbie’s house…………. and left it there all night.
You gotta love Bill!

I had an aunt, who was in her late 70's that had been a widow for many years. She had moved back to the town where she and her siblings had been born and raised in as she had inherited the old "home place" which she had remodeled for her to live in. She lived on a cul-de-sac and had relatives living all around her.

She met an older gentleman at church who was also single. The first time she invited him over to her house for supper, his Suburban would not start when it came time for him to leave. It was late in the evening and they lived in a small town with no one to call for help but she made him move that big ol' heavy car by pushing it down the street. She wasn't about to have her family gossiping about her!

They later got married.
