Landing gear box how to remove

Well as stated in an earlier post and with the help of a few people, I found the correct part to replace the landing gear box. While broken, it would flip around depending if the gear was going up or down. Now I'm stuck with how to proceed...the gear seems on there pretty good and my only thought is to use a puller. Can someone out there provide some insight? ThanksImageUploadedByTapatalk1375233103.373344.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1375233122.251698.jpg

There should be a pin or a bolt behind the case. You are replacing the whole 3 to 1 reduction assembly right.

for it to brake you need tp check the gears in the legs. I am ready to bet you have gears not meshing propeerly. You need to anchor the centering plate on both legs as I had to do the second year. have a post detailing in spring 2010.

Boy, its been a long time since I repeatedly disassembled/reassembled these, but I found a good picture by searching "Venture Landing Gear" on Google Images.
Here it is: venture landing gear.jpg
I am pretty sure that by removing the square bar to the follower leg and its adapter piece, you should have freed the gearbox and motor to slide towards the middle of the rig. I also seem to remember if the shafts get dinged up this can be a miserable experience with hammers, files, and swearing as the shafts won't slide out of the gearbox smoothly like they should. If this is bad enough you might want to consider jacking up the lead (door) leg side of the trailer a bit, put the frame on that side on a jackstand, retract or remove the telescoping leg, and take the whole leg and motor/gear drive out so you can get the whole assembly to a workbench to get it apart.

I was able to quickly get the telescoping rod out from the actual gears. Now I am faced with the large gear not coming off, after reading some posts I started getting nervous about doing this with the landing gear down. Is this an issue for safety of the rig and will this make it impossible to remove the gear?

For safety, you should have already placed heavy duty jack stands or cribbing under the frame near the landing gear.

When I have worked on this assembly I have the rig hooked to the truck so there is no weight on the legs.

With it broken you will have to find a way to jack up the front but I would then hook up to truck for max safety.

I ended up contacting venture and to replace the gear, the landing gear will not move. Picked up the metal replacement (should have been metal in the first place) and I ended up having to knock the gear off with a hammer. Ez from there onImageUploadedByTapatalk1375465955.235148.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1375465969.781518.jpg
