Landing pads

When we had our travel trailer we used 4 x 6 board under the pads for the jacks. Our new coach has the 6 point auto leveling. Should we put something under the jack pads? If so, what?

thanks

Mark built some boxes out of ¾ in plywood and 2x12. He put drawer handles on the side so there are easy to pick up. They store easily and help spread out the weight. They are holding up well and will be cheap to fix when water finally gets to the plywood. The boards are weather treated.

I only use pads under my 6 point in soft sand and at sights that are not level and I might run out of stroke.

I always use landing pads as I think it adds a little stability in a lot of sites. I just screwed two pieces of 2x12x12s together and like mentioned below added a screen door handle.

I use the conventional plastic pads if the ground is a little soft or occasionally in extreme site un-level situations to help avoid over extending some of the legs.
