Posting pics of the new Key West!

Did the deal yesterday! Dealer will be installing the W/D (unit was already prepped) and the dishwasher but almost everything else was already there, including the six point auto-leveler and all of the chassis and tire upgrades that are available on the Key West. It also includes the White/Black/Silver full body paint which looks amazing under this Texas summer sun.

We still have to schedule the PDI and moving our old Greystone from the beach to the dealer to move our possessions aboard but we hope to have everything complete and the Key West in our water front RV slot within a couple of weeks.

Here are the mandatory and totally self-serving pics including Laurie in the kitchen!!

Re: My mandatory, totally self-serving "New RV" Post!!

Very Nice, what are the two tall side by side doors to in the kitchen? Pantry? 2015?

The left door is the stackable washer/dryer location and the right door is the pantry and electrical panels location. And, yes, to the 2015. :) I personally liked the hutch design in the 2016 better but Laurie didn't want to lose all that closet space so we went with the 2015 series.

Is that an induction cooktop?

That is the induction cooktop. Been doing some reading about the required cookware and I've posted a question over in the Appliances section so if you have any insight on that topic....

Put a small magnet in your pocket. If it will stick to the bottom of what you are looking at, it will work. Eliminates a lot of looking at boxes to find out something. We bought the Nu-Wave set at Wally world made for the induction tops. Non stick and cheap, $100.

I see a happy smile on your wife. Happy wife happy life.
Don

Yeah, she's happy. :) She also wanted to show how much space this RV has. She's five feet tall and looks very tiny inside the sprawling kitchen and next to the pantry & washer/dryer doors.

Jeff and Laurie: Congrats on your new coach. We got your coaches twin two weeks age. Fraternal twins though -- our youngster has the propane stove though, wife did not want the induction. Only thing I wish it has was / are the slide toppers but those can come later if needed.

Best wishes on many enjoyable trips.

ksucats, thanks! We're also looking at the slide toppers but can wait on that until later this year. Enjoy your new KW! :)

We have been cooking on induction for over a decade, wouldn't leave home without it. Beyond magnetism, one of the important properties for induction cookware is in the layers or plies of steel running from the center-bottom of the cookware to the outer edges and then up the sidewalls. This helps with transferring the heat evenly around and up the sidewalls of the cookware. Some of your lower cost cookware does not have the plies running throughout and up the sidewalls. It's this property which is not a hard and fast technical requirement that used to scare people away from induction, along with the no copper bottom and cheap aluminum stuff since those won't work. You want something of reasonable quality and will not change shape when heated. Some cheaper cookware will go from being flat-bottom to rounded when heated and that causes the outer edges of the cookware to rise off the glass and become less efficient to heat, not to mention rock back and forth on a glass top range.

At home we use All-Clad cookware, if you don't mind dropping the bux on it, it's the best you can buy. Just look for anything with the induction symbol on it and is multi-ply, or visit something like a Williams and Sonoma for guidance. Alternatively Cuisinart makes a great knock off that we also own and I find myself reaching for it more often for every day abuse (also available at Costco). Lastly, I've heard generally good things about Costco's Kirkland brand of stainless cookware. You'll note that on pretty much all of the recommendations, they're all tri-ply which is the key to success. ;)
