New California Insurance Coverage Minimums

For you California owners, I thought I would pass this info on to you. You may not be insured to the legal California minimum limits due to new laws. I was surprised that my insurer did not contact me about this. Many RV parks check if your insurance is legal before letting you in.

*Effective January 1, 2025, Senate Bill 1107 increases the minimum financial responsibility requirement for private passenger vehicles to:

• $30,000 for injury/death to one person.
• $60,000 for injury/death to more than one person.
• $15,000 for damage to property.

These figures are about twice the previous minimums.

I was just informed by Progressive Insurance that you are legal with your old coverage in California until your policy renewal date.
