One thing I noticed right off, this hitch is quite a bit heavier than my other one. Rather than risk a back problem again, I used the tractor and loader to lift it up in the truck. As it sits now I'm about an inch higher than the previous hitch to the top of the plate, but it seemed like the other might have been just a bit low, so need to hook up and check it before I call it. As to the hitch, the jaws are cast, and are geared to operate in tandem. Each of the Jaw pivots has a grease fitting which I like. There's a little spring loaded green bar/indicator that is pushed forward when the trailer king pin locks in place. I guess the theory is that if the king pin isn't low enough to be in the proper position to hitch it won't engage this bar?? The pivot for front to rear has plastic bushings, very smooth. The side to side pivot has pockets that sit on pinsand is held in place by through pins. Did notice that it has rubber bumpers on each side. The handle release is pretty straight forward, turn it up and pull it opens the jaws. Shove it in and turn it down and you are locked. There is hole to put a lock through and latch the handle in the locked position. Something that I think you would really want to do, as it doesn't take much to lift the handle into the unlocked position.
