A couple of weeks ago the fireplace in our Landmark quit heating. I removed the fireplace and discovered that the fan was not working and the electric element then overheated and shut down so I turned the fan blade by hand and found the blade tried to turn but had too much resistance to keep turning. I took an air hose and blowed the dust that had collected over a year and a half out of the fan and took WD-40 and sprayed the fan shaft and bushings and presto it began to turn again. Well this only lasted two days and it quit again so I called Dimplex and explained what had happen and that if they could send me another fan I was comfortable with installing it. In five days I reseived the entire heating and fan assembly in the mail. This is the way it is supposed to work. Kudos to Dimplex and their customer service.
