I don't get it, cools down to 33 in the box and -6 in the freezer on electric with in 10 hours. I then switch to gas and will warm up to 55. When I start it up on gas the burner fires right up, best I get is 36 in the freezer and 52-58 in the box in 24 hours. I cant have venting problem with working that good on gas right? also on gas the 2 fans I have behind the fridge comes on in 60 degrees weather, that makes no sense. I just started up on gas 2 hours ago and have check to see if the burner is going and it is all 4 times I have check. Any Ideas? I hate to take it to a dealer and they start throwing parts at at my expense. If anybody knows of a good Dometic fridge tech with in 50 miles of Sussex WI please let me know Thanks!

Larry, if the gas burner is lit and it works good on AC, then it sounds like the burner may just be out of adjustment.
The flame may need to be redirected to the proper place.

is the flame suppose to rise with colder temp setting?
The flame would be the same at any temp setting. It would stay on longer to reach the lower temperature setting.

Here are some possible causes of poor cooling on propane:

- Dirt or spider webs in the orifice. Remove, clean with solvent and air dry.
- Dirt or spider webs in burner. Remove, clean with solvent or soft wire brush.
- Low propane system operating pressure.

that's about the only thing I haven't done is check for low propane pressure, hope to be Abel to that this week it is on my list. I wounder if their is something going wrong with the circuit board

More likely you have a regulator or pigtail that's going bad. Have you tried running off the other tank?

Speaking to another point, the fans in the rear of the fridge are not controlled in any way by the outside temperature. They are controlled by a thermostatic disk on the condenser fins at the top rear of the fridge. They will run at any outside temperature to try to maintain the proper condenser temperature.

My point is if the fans are kicking in then one would think that the burner is producing enough heat for the system to be cooling. And yes I did switch tanks same thing. I have the fans so they can run off the the thermostatic disk or manually.

I agree, if the fans kick in with outside temps low, the gas flame is producing heat. But the heat from the flame is not effectively heating the fluid for some reason.

Maybe two fans are too much. Maybe they are pulling the heat from the heaters away from the fridge not allowing the fridge to cool. Just a thought.

will finally fixed. First the propane regulator was weak replaced and cooled better but not at its best. Took it to a Dometic dealer and they found out that the flue bathle was missing, this slows down the heat from exhausting out SO the ammonia will boil
