As I sit at my desk preparing to transport the only school in our area that is open today, I have to reflect upon what we in the east have just been through. As we prepare to bring our lives back together I want to send a huge thank you to our FRIENDS! While your own was in jeopardy you took time from your own troubles to post, call, email and text checking up on us. I can never express what all this has meant to us. We gather together to sit around a campfire and have become friends as a result of those times. For those many "friends" who contacted us and showed true concern for our well being, I am proud to call you "MY FRIEND"! This will not go away anytime soon and we will do whatever we can to repay the favor. If you need anything we are but a call away.

To our out-of-state friends - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for sending your friends and family to the Jersey Shore to help! We have seen utility companies from all over the country, the National Guard has been stationed right down the road from where I sit and the response to our cries for help has been overwhelming to say the least! NJ takes the brunt of the jokes for whatever reason and we are more that just SNOOKIE and and some UNREALISTIC reality shows. The real reality is that you are here to help and we appreciate it more than we could ever say!

God Bless those who are now homeless and those who remain without power.

Your Thank You letter is eloquent. As I looked at opening this thread on the new posts list, I noted that 25 people had looked at it, and no one had responded. Let me be the first. YOU ARE WELCOME!!! This disaster response just again shows that the main reason God put us on this earth is to help others.

The compassion you have shown for others has been incredible. It's the folks like you and John who make this more than just a group of people with a common interest, but rather friends who care for each others well being. God bless you both.😇

I think most of us who have watched the disaster unfold on TV wish we could do more - I can't imagine the pain of losing everything I have worked for all my life and even worse to have nothing and no place to stay. You are all in our prayers as we try to help in small ways.
