Traveling With Large Dog

Frank, we have camped many times with William and Mary, "Conan" is a big, 130# sissy. He and "Callie" take naps together in the grass. He is into belly scratches. I don't think I have ever heard him bark.

Old Mags was a Rotty/Lab mix. Once in your life you might be blessed to get a dog like she was. Mags went every place we went. If you work with your dog and train it you won't have any problem finding someone in the RV park to watch over the dog if you need to spend the day away and can't take it with you. Never had a problem with her....Now the little firecracker Daisy, that's her replacement is a different story, but she's coming along...Don

Pechanga RV resort has 150# limit on 1 or many dogs per rig. William put Conan on a diet.

Thanks for the info. While our dog is only about 75#, she is 14 yrs old. Moving about can be difficult for her at times. And her back legs are weaker than they used to be, so she cannot jump up on furniture most days, and climbing in and out of the truck or other vehicle is almost impossible. We do have a folding ramp that we use with our van; hoping it works for the truck (which we will be towing with) and also getting in and out of the camper. We have boarded our dogs in the past, but that gets to be very expensive; and they love going with us--anywhere! We did put a step "carpet" on the bottom step of the camper, but she won't be able to use it anyway. May need to put some on the other 2 steps. Hopefully, the ramp will do the trick---she's not overly fond of the ramp either. Good suggestions there--we are new to camping with the dogs. Thanks again.
