TV in bedroom

Before I run out and purchase a new flat screen tv I have a question, hope I get some response on this shortly.

1) I have Dish Satellite at home and when we go camping we take the 311 box from the upstairs bedroom along with us camping. When we get to a campground I hook up the Satellite System to the camper and watch TV on the main TV in the living room. We have a 29MK 2011 GreyStone 5ver and love it by the way! Anyhow, my questions is if I purchase a TV for the wife and put it in the bedroom will she be able to watch her TV programs while I'm watch baseball or something else on the main TV in the living room?

Thanks in advance for any input, you are always so very helpful.

You'll probably need a separate sat box for each TV if you want to watch separate programs on each TV.

We have Direct TV at home, but rely on the antenna and the DVD player for entertainment while in our TT.

I, too, use the DirecTV Genie and 3 mini-boxes in the RV

Hi Grey Ghost,

Generally you can watch 2 different programs if you have 2 receivers. But there are other things to consider. Some dishes support one receiver; others support 2 or more. There are also standard definition/high definition choices, auto-aiming/manual aiming choices.

Suggest you take a look at our Getting Started With Satellite TV Guide. The flowchart on the last page will walk you through the choices so you'll know what kind of dish you need. For high-def, auto-aiming and multiple receivers on Dish Network, you'll probably want a Winegard Answer or Dish Pathway X2.

I have been doing exactly what you describe for 4 years now. I have a Dish 722 DUAL TUNER receiver. It mixes incoming satellite and UHF signals for the rear TV in the same cable from the UDC to the entertainment center. I will look up my previous complex post describing this setup. I use the same setup at home and jsut move my Dish box back and forth to/from the Bighorn.
