If one wants to clean the roof to prevent the annoying black streaks and just to have it clean what is the approved product that we can use? I see people talking about just soap and water or spick and spam or not to do anything at all. Is there an approved product that heartland can tell me is ok to use?

I don't think there is anything that will prevent the black streaks. My sense is that it is from airborne dirt and contaminants that are deposited on the roof, then streaks down the corners when the roof is wet.
Heartland has no specific recommendation. Dicor is our current EPDM roof membrane supplier. Here's a link to their website. They sell their own cleaner and other roof related products.
