I understand what you are saying, however, that is really the only location that we can put the vac. If you notice on the inside of the coach, the vac is at the bottom of the stairs leading up into the bedroom. This is because of certain systems that are concealed for lines, hoses, etc. So for the port in the basement storage, that is where it lines up for the canister. That is the closest that we can get it to either side of the coach. Thank you for your input. Mike
