Water leak under island sink

After we do the dishes we seem to have water that runs out under the island after we are done and there is no water or wet spot under the sink in the compartment. Any ideas?

Nmexseis, welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. Lots of good information here.
Since you only see water after doing the dishes it sounds like you may have a loose fitting on the drain pipe.
So, take a look at all the fittings under the sink. Including the large one right at the sink bottom.
Only hand tighten them.
Come back and let us know what you find.

Peace
Dave

One thing that works well for finding leaks is to wrap toilet tissue around fittings. You might give that a try to help locate your leak.
Also I would take a look at the floor, and where the plumbing comes up, look closely.
Do you have an ice maker in your refrigerator? Some models have the shut off valve located under the kitchen sink.
That small water supply line may have a pin hole in it.

Peace

Check the big nut that connects the sink to the drain pipes. That is probably loose. It is right up at the bottom of the sink.

Check the flange where the sink meets the underside of the counter top. Due to improper installation, the sinks have been known to drop slightly and water will find its way out. There should be six small metal clips holding the sink tight to the counter top, two in front, two in back, and one at each end. Some or all of these clips have been found to be missing in some rigs.

I had a similar condition, but found the water on the bottom of the cabinet under the sink before any damage was done. I found that the two front clips were missing, so I obtained some additional clips and also ran a bead of clear silicone along the sink flange/counter top. The photo shows the clips.

Thanks all for the good advice it is helpful. The clip was missing and on my way to get some. Hope it solves the problem.

It is fairly common to have insufficient clips holding the sink up. When I found water in the frying pans under the sink I removed a clip and fabricated a few and after adding them to what was already there, they held the sink up completely. Don't forget to recaulk around the top of the sink when you add the new clips because the old caulk has seen better days after the sink sagging. Tom

What a coincidence to see this thread. I just fixed my leaking sink today, it started dripping into my utensil drawer. 3 out of 6 clips were stripped and the silicone wasn't present in one corner. I had to redo the silicone, fixed the stripped clips and then added more clips.
