Welcome Home Light comes on randomly

The light will just come on and then go off in a few minutes or sometimes 30 minutes.
Sometimes it will work as intended but rarely.

There is a proximity switch located within the door that activates the mating element under the door stoop. The "brain" unit is typically located behind the basement panel near the steps.

It’s a magnetic switch. Magnet on bottom of door, switch under threshold. Magnet may be weak (happened to me once). Replacing magnet maybe all you need.
