Sorry to hear about your fridge problems. We too had similar problem when we purchased our Augusta in June 2008. After several attempts at repairing/replacing various parts, Dometic stepped up to totally replace our RM1350. Many thanks to Steve Kennel at Heartland, Camper Clinic in Rockport, TX (not our selling dealer by the way but a great service center) and Dometic for our replacement unit.
We have found that high humidities and being parked with fridge slide to the western sky can create some tense moments when even set on "5" one might wonder if things are going to stay cold enough. We keep a thermometer hanging inside the main fridge area so we can monitor what is really happing inside and don't pay a lot of attention to the digital numbers on the outside of the unit.
