Haha folks if that doesn't get your attention I don't know what will! I'm not even sure what the dieselengineer has planned haha!!

This is a very preliminary notice. We are going to have details hammered out within a week...but let me say that this owner was a pleasure to talk to over the phone and he will do whatever we need in order for us to have a great rally. I have my wagonmaster in the field...Dan the cableman, meeting with him and tour the site more extensively. Dan was there on Monday and told me that this would be a nice place for a rally. I will post more as I get the details, but I felt very positive after speaking with Todd (owner). I do believe we will be getting a group discount. There are 50 amp full hookup pull-thrus, and 30 amps... plus there are water and electric sites only...but we can all be together in a section of the CG. Also a place for our potluck. For those of you checking out the website, the area we would be in is in the lower left corner of the CG map..

I will post as I know more details. Stay tuned!! I just wanted to give you all a heads-up!

I have never been to a rally, this one is very close to home. Might be worth seeing what a rally is all about. We have had our sundance 2998RB for 2 years. So I think I will write this one in pencil on the calendar.

Good move Garth. You will not regret going to a PA rally - or any Heartland rally for that matter. Great people, great time, great memories.

Throw away the pencil and take up a permanent ball point pen. If you've never been to a rally you don't know what you are missing. But beware, once you attend a rally you are putting yourself at risk to becoming a raly-aholic.

Cheryl and Jim--good Lord willing and the creek don't rise we'll be there along with our two rally-aholic labs.

Don't worry yet Eric. I spoke to the experts who claim that it is not a truly serious condition until you are diagnosed with "Rally-holic-itis-ISM" You just need a stready diet of pot luck and rest around a campfire and it should simmer down a bit for ya!. Don't worry because the Eastern Chapter Leaders are all trained and certified to schedule and apply your treatments. We'll take care of ya baby!

Garth if you're penciling in PA you may as well go all the way and convoy out to Goshen/Elkhart with us. How does the promise of a factory tour strike you? How about envisioning every model that Heartland makes on the Elkhart fairgrounds, seminars, touring, shopping in nearby Amish country, food, food, and more food. Oh and yes, don't forget the friendship. When you head out to Goshen you will know the PA gang, when you leave Goshen you will have made many more friends... As Mikey's brother used to say.."Try it, you'll like it!"

Hey Cheryl!! I can't believe it...this rally will fit right into our schedule. We have our son's wedding reception in Baltimore on June 4th. We'll be staying at Gettysburg...we can easily head to this rally on our way to Goshen too...PENCIL US IN!!!

We really enjoyed spending the little time we could with everyone at Hershey...this way we can spend alot of time...if you guys will have us...Kathy and Ken

All I can say at this time, Goshen is not the second phase. We will have the first ever three phase rally that people will be talking about for years. You may need to pace yourself on this one Eric. Again , I am going for your rally vote.

Hang in there everyone until I get final information. I can tell you that we have a mix of pull thrus, back-ins, 50 amp, 30 amp, and full hook-ups, water and electric only. I talked to owner Todd today and I can tell you he is excited to host our rally and will do whatever we need done to ensure a great time. Cableman walked the CG yesterday with Todd and took a lot of pictures and although it's an older CG, it seems to have everything we need. It's right next to Moraine State park too...so if you have inflatable boats...I'm sure you can bring 'em!

I will have additional information by next Wednesday so wait until then to call. At that time I will tell you what the rate per night will be, he is working up a price for us since we are a group. I will tell you that he will hold sites until January 15th....at which time he will release them and you will take what you get after that, providing he has sites left. He does have another section in the back that are electric and water only...so if we fill up the front we could move to that back area.

Lucia, hear that???? JANUARY 15th, 2011. That is the cut-off date. LOL Yankin' your chain, sista.

Stay tuned!!! In the meantime, check your schedules to see if you can make it!!

if possible can you list the three phases? We would love to be part of the entire
PA rally extravaganza but just not sure if there are enough vacation days is the
year to cover all the scheduled events! If we cannot attend all three is it possible
to still be part of the Eastern Heartland group at the national rally in Indianna?

In order to keep the 2010 prices he is taking payment for the w/e in full...not just a first night deposit. He failed to mention that to me and I failed to ask...I'm just assuming it would just be a FN deposit but we need to pay up front both nights. That's ok I guess...I was just caught off guard.

OK. I'll have DH put that in the first post too.

Recently at a chapter leaders meeting held in Pa, it was decided that in the true spirit of caring about the community in which we rally...we are going to give back to that community from the Heartland family. I have been in touch with Dan, (cableman) who lives in the area of our PA rally for 2011. We are going to be giving back to the local food bank. Also, Dan has been in touch with a pastor of the church that supports the food bank. He will gladly come over to the campground to have a 0900 service for us on Sunday before we leave for Goshen. I think this is a wonderful idea. Stay tuned for more details as I know them.

I think the reason the Goshen rally is so good is because of the factory tour, meeting the Heartland crew....we met the CEO... had a great round table discussion (and catered lunch)....plus the huge dinner at the Blue Gate.... and the fact that there are sooooooooooooooooooooo many people...and we all have something in common...all Heartland owners and really enjoying our rigs...and the friendships we have made and continue to make. I think that's the heart of the matter...

I just spoke with Todd, the CG owner. He will go to the office tomorrow and check messages and get back to everyone who has a new message left on the machine. Being that he isn't in the office all the time...he isn't getting back as often as he would in the summer...but he understands we have folks anxious to book so he will keep closer tabs on the voice mails... so...there is still time to book!!! Just leave a message and someone will give you a call back!!

Todd had told me he wasn't going to assign sites just yet in case he had to make some changes because of rig size. I think it's Sarah assigning sites and not sure he wanted her to. I will drop him a note after Christmas and ask him. I know he told me he wasn't going to assign and that's why some of us aren't. Don't worry about it...I will take care of it. We are going to the National rally. Just a caution, They get a lot of winds being up on the top of a hill. Who is Williams? Who is Krause? It doesn't help that I don't have first names and I know some people reserved without letting me know.

I seem to be missing some people off their list but not to worry, I'll get it straightened out. Don and Betty, Bob and Christina, and Greg and Beth.

Ok, here is the latest. I just got off the phone with Sarah and I expressed my dismay at what appears to be shoddy management. She agreed that better records should have been kept... she is a new employee but I think she has better organizational skills. Good thing you guys keep your registration #s and charge card info. Seems the fall people (Dean, McGlynn, and Jamie Walker) reservations were taken by either the owner, his brother, or someone named Liz..who no longer works there). So.... each of you should call back to the CG just to make sure you are squared away. Sarah thinks that Todd, the owner, may know about you guys but you aren't in the system.

Try to call today! Sarah is in the office today till early afternoon. Tomorrow, the owner will be in the office (or his brother who works for him)... Sarah works Tues/Thurs/Sat.

She assures me that all will be straightened out. (It'd better be!) There are plenty of sites...so not to worry....

Let me know here in the thread what happens. I have 2 attendees who signed up on their own and did not tell me....VERY WELCOME to the rally but confusing as heck for me!!!

Thanks!!!

I called the CG earlier today (around 11:30 AM) and had to leave a msg... I figured I'd hear back soon... I have tried a couple times since... still no answer, and now the answering machine has a response stating that the message memory is full... UGH

FYI... we did find in our credit card history that we were charged by them on Oct 13. As I recall, we were not assigned any site then, and I never received any confirmation... (guess that should have set off some sirens)

I guess being in the office until early afternoon must be different in western PA than here in central NY...

Hope we get past this soon.

State College is just about in the center of the state. Perfect for a PA rally.

I got an email that this thread was hard to find in the forum....so I will also post it here. That way it won't disappear, it will stay in this section...

Hello ladies!

I am asking a favor from all of the Heartland ladies who love to crochet or knit (or both!).
As babies are near and dear to my heart, I would love to add an item to our offering to the community of Goshen/Elkhart. We are collecting food pantry items, but I would also love to offer something to the new moms and babies of the area who maybe do not have a lot of resources...in the form of warmth and comfort... baby blankets, hats, booties. The Indiana winters are harsh as we have all heard this year (and many experienced!)

I know many of us love to crochet just for fun and to keep busy with a project. There are many knitting clubs out there who donate blankets to local hospitals for the new babies and especially for the preemies in the NICU (I am a long time NICU nurse)...so....

Could I ask each of you crafters to donate a homemade blanket..or perhaps a blanket with matching hat and booties if you are talented to do the hat and booties (I can only make blankets).

I don't know how many of you crochet but I bet a good many. Could I set a goal of 50 blankets?

Many thanks! I know each will be made with love. In fact, the name of this project will be "Babies Wrapped in Love."

Same result with that number... obviously they haven't been there because the message memory is still full.

Or maybe that is their way to stop us from harassing them...

I finally got in touch with Todd on Monday and then Sarah today. They did apparently find some of my info.... and they have added me back in the system. She didn't assign me a site yet... she is trying to arrange according to length. She will be sending me an email with the info in it. She said it should be straight by this weekend.

Cheryl,

We are in. Ginger was able to get a hold of Sarah on Saturday. Funny thing is, she told Ginger that we will have 2 sites back to back. It would make one pull through site(site C16 and D13). When we received our confirmation, it only showed site C16. At least we got one site. We'll probably have to take a cab to get to the rest of the rally, I haven't looked at the map yet. Now we are working on not getting billed twice.

Yes Sarah gave the Seamos a back to back site too so they can pull through. Maybe they are just putting us in that area and not booking empty sites to outsiders...so they aren't worried about us using extra sites... sounds good to me...2 sites, 1 price. An extra site will give us a large spot for a campfire!

Hello everyone....when out shopping for yourselves keep an eye open for bargains for the food pantry in Portersville. When we think of a food pantry we think of FOOD..right? But they have just as much a need for personal items as well...things such as paper products, dish soap, hand soap, body soap, etc... you get the idea. My man in the field (Dan) is in touch with a lady at the food bank and will be getting a list of needed items... he can then post here as to what their needs are... but I'm betting they won't turn away anything!!

So keep a thought while doing your own shopping. 100 items is our goal!

Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know that Bear Run CG called today and has moved our site to A-5 as they feel it will better accommodate our rig. She said we were still within the group so LG.

Told Michael today we needed to sit down and organize what we need for all the upcoming rallies so we don't forget, i.e., toy for the NJ rally, food/staple product for PA, baby food for Goshen, and the list goes on. It feels good to know that in addition to having fun and being with our Heartland family we can also do something good for our local communities. Can't wait!!!

If you don't crochet or knit here is a Youtube video on those tied fleece blankets... those are pretty easy... the bigger blankets call for 2 yds each of fleece (they are made to be reversible) so maybe a yard of each would be ok for a baby blanket...just a thought... think I'll try one myself....I think we will do these at Goshen too at the ladies table...

He would just ask that as we arrive we unhitch and then move our vehicles over to a parking area he will have designated (just till everyone gets in ok) because it might be a little tight trying to navigate into spots with everyone's vehicles right there. Then once everyone is in (or it starts to get dark)...we can move our tows back next to our rigs. So just to give you a heads-up for now.
