Tank Fittings

For those of you who have examined the tank, where is the suction line attached?

I work with poly tanks extensively and there are many new bulkhead fittings that are essentially flush with the tank walls, are they using a fitting or is it a molded nipple on the side of the tank.

There are also tanks formed with a sump area so it is certain that you can drain most of the solution.
