Need advice on Ramp door repair

Its time to pull my rear ramp door and rebuild it due to water intrusion. I have seen the post by mroldstyle here, //heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/23780-Ramp-Failure! and I have heard of others rebuilding the entire door, I really don't want to have any more issues with the door so I am looking for advice/tips/tricks/Lessons learned, ETC, how are your repairs holding up, how would you do it differently? With this particular repair only 6 inches up from the bottom, how is it holding up to the spring tension? I'll take any advice you have to give.
