Truck Weights

Took my son to get a load of compost yesterday and got the opportunity to get a couple of weights on the truck (2012 Ford F350 Lariat Crew Cab DRW - two adults, two children, half tank of fuel, bed tool box, hitch out). The county has two recycling facilities and turns out the one on the north end has a scale that you have to drive over to get to the window to show you are a county resident. I asked the gentleman at the window if I could get my weight since I was sitting on the scale anyway. He said, "Sure, 4340, but that's just the rear axle. Back up a little and I'll give you the whole thing." So I did. It was 9120. Cost was nothing and I now have some good figures to work from. Now I just have to find an excuse to pull the 5th wheel over the scale. Or, guess I can wait til I get to the rally at Urbanna.
