2004 Ford Expedition and an Edge M21- recommendations for towing.

We are considering an edge M21. We have a 2004 Ford Expedition V8 with a Standard towing package, but we want to choose the best modifications to tow safely and easily. What would you recommend?

Make sure you have good shocks on your expedition. Then get an Equalizer hitch with an anti sway bar and you should be fine. It should have a class 3 hitch receiver already. You may have to add a brake controller.

Does your Expedition have the seven pin connector? My wife's 2005 has the class 3 2 inch receiver, but only has the four pin connector normally used on boat trailers, utility trailers and the like. I don't recall exactly what the towing package contained, but I know there is a transmission cooler on hers and I believe there is a kit where you can add the upgraded electrical for towing and brake control.
