Recently I've been having problems with my "Progressive Smart Surge" protector SSP-50 conflicting with my onboard GFI outlets where half the 50 amp leg goes out leaving only those non GFI protected outlets working. My brother who is an electrician says that the Progressive system is acting like a GFI and "fighting" with the on board GFI shutting down GFI protected outlets. Basically I then have to unplug my progressive surge protector from the pedestal and turn off the 50 amp breaker and then turn the pedestal breaker back on and the system works again. I recently ran into a friend who is a full-time RVer who is having the same exact problem. He sent his Progressive EMS back to the factory for repairs and had it return but the problem still exists. Has anyone had a similar problem and what was your fix if any? Is it something on board my coach or is it the pedestal search protector that I purchased the problem? I don't want to go without a pedestal search protector to protect my coach's electrical system.
