Join us for a little Heartland camp-out at Old Mill Stream Campground. This is a great way to kick off your 2016 rally season. The campground is not holding any sites since this is not an official rally. They do have 20+ sites that are open in the same area as our last 2 rallies there. So the sooner you sign up, the better chance to get into that section.

The campground is unsure of any price increase for the 2016 season. The current rate is $50/night. A $50 deposit is required by mail.

Please let me know if you can join us. Should be a great time sitting around the campfire and catching up with friends.

Attached is a map of the section that we wil be in.

Yeah I think we have been there quite a few times We like the 400 spots the best close to the park. By the way in-case anyone has not been back to the park since last time, the entrance is now through the main gate to dutch wonderland. Once you are through you will hang an immediate right and follow the road up towards the old entrance and go left. Make sure you stay in the far right lane. We will be going to opening day again too. We get season tickets to there

Terry, it's great to hear from you. Actually there are 3 events in PA this year.

In April, there is a Heartland camp out in Lancaster.
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?p=448633

In May, there is the PA rally in Mifflinburg PA.
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?p=445926

In July, there is the Region Rally in New Holland PA
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?p=437618

Click on the links to go to each event site. All the info is in the first post. You can contact the campgrounds to make reservations. Some campgrounds might have limited access during the winter months. You can also reserve additional days before and after, if you would like.

Also, in 2016 there are a few other rallies near you.

College Park, near Washington DC
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?p=439705

Lake George, New York
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?p=444857

Falmouth Massachusetts

We called the campground this morning to confirm our reservation for Site #302. They said Dale and I are confirmed. They did not have a confirmation for the Muellers. We actually visited the campground yesterday as we do not live very far away. We spoke to Dawn both Saturday and today on the phone. I would suggest they call and find out what happened.

Can not wait for April 15th ( who ever says that ) It may not be the first Camping trip of the year since I may be headed to Florida next week via DC ... But it will be the first HOC Event of the 2016 season for me.

But even More Important than Camping is https://days.to/02-april/2016 The Due date of my first grandchild. Let's hope he/she is a timely sprout because you know that it will be hard to leave for PA less than two weeks after the arrival.

I Solemnly Promise that there will NOT be a slide show attempt at the rally!! but I will have photos Ad Nauseam.

That 1st grandchild is special. Heck, they're all special but something about holding the 1st one is really a great feeling. Reason we're in the area for the Pa. rally is to spend some time up that way with our 2 youngest GKs. Looking forward to the rally and seeing a pic of your 1st. Later and have a great day.

Ok....either I'm really smart or really forgetful. Ginger called Old Mill Stream today to reserve a pavilion for Saturday's potluck. They told her that the pavilions were already booked for both Friday and Saturday. Apparently a owners group was having a get together that weekend. A "Jamie" had already booked them.

I had a quick thought that everyone should know. If you already do know sorry for the repeat. Old mill stream and Dutch wonder land are under construction and late last year they changed the entrance to Old mill stream. The entrance is now at the Dutch Wonderland sign. When you turn in you will be making a sharp right and following the main road back up. Make sure you stay to the right and go through the far right ticket booth. You need to make sure you watch your passengers tires as they do come close to the curb when turning.

Specifically I wouldn't know. As long as they fit and hold up the rigors of a 16k lb fifth wheel. Definitely less expensive!

I sent the wife a message about the lug nuts and got a cryptic message back. "ok" I don't know what to do now.

I just read a few reviews and I know a grain of salt and decided not worth it and going to see if I can buy them.

I looked at the Napa invoice...$7.99 for 4 but I trust their fitment.
The first 8 were purchased in Wisconsin after I discovered a leaking valve stem. The tire repair tech sent me over to NAPA after he pointed out half of the lug nut caps were cracked. He said if they (the caps) fell off I'd have a time of it trying to change a tire along the road [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]!

What's wrong with the OEM ones installed at birth?

The OEM's are steel lug nuts with an aluminum cap that cracks after being spun on and off especially with an air impact wrench. If that cap comes off your left with an odd sized lug nut that could be difficult to remove.

Dale and I are not going to be able to make it to the camp out next weekend. We had to cancel our reservations today. Our new Bighorn has a hydraulic leak at the manifold and the part hasn't come in yet. We don't feel comfortable towing it anywhere until it's resolved. I can't tell you how disappointed we are but we will be at the rally in July! It better not take that long! We are really looking forward to meeting everyone!

Well, it's a long story. We know what's wrong. The manifold is cracked and needs replaced. Our dealer in Bath NY so we really don't want to take it back which is four hours away. Dale could probably do it himself but they won't let him. So... We have calls into Heartland and are using a mobile repAir service but someone dropped the ball. Maybe at Heartland. It's frustrating because if it wasn't a warranty issue we would be done by now.

Was informed today the part needed to fix ours will not be shipped until April 20th. Surprising yet not surprised the long lead time in shipping part from lippert. Oh well onto plan b. It's not a show stopper.

Urgh...l looked in our journal, last year in Elkhart, 4/22, we had snow showers all day. The next morning when we left the temp was well below freezing. I had on my puffy jacket while hooking up the BH[emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]!!!!

Doing the same. Bringing everything to dewinterize there. We just need to load some food that might freeze and we are ready. Can't wait to try out the new Flex Air pin box. First trip out with this set up.

I can bring what I have for firewood and I'll buy some too. Sunday could always be a breakfast outside if weather permits or leftovers. This is going to be one busy week.

Sounds good. I checked last night, our firewood is still under snow. Maybe today's rain will melt things down.

I'm sure we can throw something together for breakfast Sunday morning.

OK, so what does everyone think. I paid for the pavilion all day Saturday, so we could have a potluck breakfast and a potluck dinner there. Or we can try a different restaurant for breakfast Saturday morning. I'm thinking we might need to go to someplace that can handle a larger group. Shady maple, Miller's, plain and fancy .....

I figure if we're cooking breakfast stuff on griddles, in skillets, brewing coffee might be good not to overload a single circuit in the pavilion.
If we were to repeat on Sunday at Jamie's rig, we'd definitely need to spread out to several pedestals [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]
