Hi Everyone,

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. We are excited to announce we have posted our rally information for 2017 under the event tab. We unfortunately had to move our rally from Columbus Weekend to this weekend due to some unforeseen events that were planned for that weekend. I hope you can join us and the campground is open during December Monday-Thursday from 8:30-4:00 and beginning in January from Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30 and ready to take your reservations. We look forward to seeing you in 2017.

The wife and I always travel to NY this week in October for fall foliage as it is peak. We have yet to attend a rally as they are new to us. Never even been part of a forum before to tell you the truth. We're trying to attend the PA rally but CG couldn't get us in, it's being worked on though. When I told DW about the wine tour she said "oh yeah". Is a bus rented for this or how is it conducted? Thanks

Welcome to the forum and we would love for you to come to our rally you will meet some wonderful people and have a good time. We will begin working on putting together our tour in the spring but we will be looking to have buses like in the pass to transport us around. Once all details are completed we will be posting them on the first page of this thread. Also the campground will be open to receive your reservations however I believe they have been closed for the last two weeks for the holiday I am awaiting a response back from my contact as to when the office will open again in 2017. I will post that information on this thread as soon as I know. Have a healthy and happy New Years

I tried to call never a answer. Booked on line no problem with booking. When you do the math tho on rates ,it doe's not add up. Doe's cost 5.00 to do on line. Already have confirmation number. Will call them in spring to figure total cost.

Hi

Sorry they have not gotten back to you however I believe they may be closed due to the holiday. You are correct the rates will not match because when we as chapter leaders make the arrangements for the rallies we are given different rates that you cannot receive on line. I do have a call and email out to my contact and will be following up again next week. I would suggest to cancel your online reservation and wait until I post more information on contacting the campground next week.

Hi All,

First we want to wish everyone a very Healthy and Happy New Year and look forward to another successful 2017 for camping. I know some have had trouble receiving calls back from the campground over the last few weeks and I feel it may be due to them being closed for the holidays that we were not informed they would be. I do have several emails and I too have left messages for them to call upon their return. I will be calling again next week to see what is going on and let everyone know the outcome.

On another note please do not book any reservations ONLINE for this rally you can only contact the campground by phone and indicate you are calling about the Heartland Owner Club Rally on October 13, 2017. They will have it in their system under our reservation of blocked sites. If you book on line first you will not receive the rally rate and second the campground will not know you are part of our group to give that rate and to place you on a site that is blocked for our rally. If you have any other questions or issues please send me a private message but at this time we are working on putting together a wine tour but will not be finalized until the spring/summer time and once it is we will be posting all information regarding the tour and the rally on the first page of this thread.

I spoke with the campground today and they were on limited hours and had limited staff over the last few weeks due to the holiday but assured me everyone who has called and left a message will receive a call from them by tomorrow so please let me know if you do not receive a call by 4:30 tomorrow and I will follow up. But as of today they are open from 8:30-4:30 M-F.

Hope everyone is doing well and beginning to enjoy the 2017 camping season. We spent the past weekend touring some of the Wineries in the Finger Lakes and have finalized today our selections. We will be stopping in at Hazlitt Winery and Three Brother Winery(three Wineries and one Beer Brewing Company in one stop) where we will be able to spend the time to enjoy. I will be posting the information on the first page of this thread shortly regarding the cost per person and time we will begin. We will also be posting a tentative agenda probably not to the mid summer. If anyone has any questions please PM me or email at hsrottiesmom@Hotmail.com.

On another note, we had such a great response last year on obtaining door prizes we are again asking if anyone has a connection with a company who might be willing to donate one of their products that we can raffle off as a door prize would be greatly appreciated. Please Email or PM me If you are able to obtain one.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again for our 2nd NY Rally.

Happy 2017 Camping Season we'll see you down the road

I am beginning to design our sweatshirts for the rally and I'm asking everyone to vote on which style they prefer between Crew Neck, Zipper down Hoodie or a Pull over Hoodie. Same as last year the Majority vote will decide on the style we choose. It would be great if everyone can put in a vote by June 1st. Thanks

I am happy to announce we have chosen our give back to the community program for our rally and this year we will be sponsoring HONOR FLIGHT OF ROCHESTER(HFR):

Here is a little history on this Organization. It is a non-profit, fully volunteer organization with a goal of taking any Veteran from WWII, Korean or Vietnam Wars who otherwise would not or could not go and wants to fly to Washington DC to visit the Memorials Built in their Honor for free. The two-day HFR trip is fee to all WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War. It is also open to veterans of any era who suffer a catastrophic illness. The organization was formed by Earl Morse a Physician's Assistant and Retired Air Force Pilot. In 2004, he was working for the VA in Springfield, Ohio when the WWII Memorial was dedicated. In the spring of 2005, he and five former Air Force Veterans leased 6 small planes at their own expense and flew 12 WWII veterans on what would be America's First Honor Flight. There are approximately 130 Honor Flight Network in 42 states. Since 2005, nearly 160,000 veterans have experienced "the gift of an Honor Flight". To date HFR have done 55 missions and have escorted 2477 Veterans. There website is www.honorflightrochester.org for more information on this great organization. I will be posting on the first thread more information about Honor Flight as I receive it.

We will be touring two different wineries our first stop will be at Hazlitt Wineries (http://hazlitt1852.com/) and second at Three Brothers (https://www.3brotherswinery.com/) which we will spend more time there as it has three wineries and one brewery all in one spot. I will be posting the cost for both within the next two weeks but I need to have an idea who will be attending and if you are answering for your spouse please include them in the response as I need an exact number and I will need to know this by August 30th! After the 30th I will not be able to add them to the list. Please let anyone you know who may not come on the forum often of this information. I will also be sending out emails to everyone within the next two weeks which will include the cost of the tour to each member. If you do not receive one from me, my email is hsrottiesmom@hotmail.com, please contact me as I may not have an updated email address on my list. Guinnea pig here w/ a couple questions:

1. What's the best way to the CG coming from Syracuse area? I'm thinking 90W to 14S to 414W to 86W. Am familiar on getting to Watkins Glen and this way is pretty straight and few hills. I see too that I could branch off 14S and pick up 54S thru Penn Yan to 86W, but unsure how road is compared to 14/414.

2. RE the potluck desserts: Are all the attendees to bring a dessert to pass?

3. Fri dinner on your own?

4. How many will still be at CG or not going on wine tour?

we go 14s to 54s you wont hit 86. there will be a sign showing a sharp right turn to the c.g. shortly after you get into town. as you hit the speed zone you will go thru 1 stop light. than look for the sign. hope this helps.

Jim and I would like to thank everyone for making our rally a great success we enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new friends. Thank you to the Smith family for the delicious BBQ chicken they provided on Saturday evening. Sammy slept more than normal do to all the greeting and petting he received over the weekend LOL. We hope you all had as much fun as we did and wish you all a great winter and hope to meet up you with you all again in the spring.

Where is the "action" video for the Super Duty just idling the motor home out of the mud?

And for those that are curious, here is the tow strap we used.

Better to use Frank's truck than Jamies. Poor guy would make his wife push the MH to help.

Thank you, we all made it home safe.
I've now come to the conclusion, after Mike & Jim were on a 4-1/2 hour seek & find mission for Jim's bearings, that we will have at least 1 complete spare set of inner and outer cones, races & seals (I'd be even happier with 4 sets) in the basement on future trips, even though it wasn't OUR rig needing them! LOL

Mike, Mike, Mike....Ginger would've pushed the MH right out. I not getting the tires dirty on the truck.

Just received a call from Elaine of Honor Flight with our total amount of donations and we raised $770.00 which they were able to send two veterans to Washington D.C. and were so grateful to all of you for your generosity! Awesome job everyone and we thank you for your kindness to this great organization!

We split our donation in two in honor of two friends that have passed.

The Honor Flight acknowledged our donation to the families and we recently received thank-you's from Hank's daughter and Phyllis and Frank's brother.

It was really our honor to remember our friends this way.

We honored my dad who was a POW in WWII I wish I had his picture but all his war papers and photos were destroyed in a flood years ago. I know Honor Flight was extremely thankful to all of us and touched that we thought of them. It truly is a wonderful way to honor our Veteran's.
