As soon as we stop, I chock the trailer first. Then I get back in the truck, put it in neutral, and then take my foot off the brake.
This lets the trailer “settle” onto the chocks before I unhook. Sometimes the trailer moves a few inches, sometimes not at all.
And of course if the chocks...
If you are going to Nova Scotia you may also want to consider Newfoundland. It is a really beautiful place, especially Gros Morne NP. And the people there are super friendly. Plus the ferry trip is a real adventure itself.
Another option is the Florida e-pass XTRA. This system covers the the whole EZ-pass system (midwest and eastern states) plus Florida and Georgia.
The e-pass XTRA transponder costs $18.50 one time, with no monthly service fees.
It does not have the western coverage that is included in the RV...
I have a 2017 F350 6.7L diesel with a 3.31 axle ratio, pulling our 16,000 lb. Bighorn. I have driven I-70 through Colorado with no problems at all. Plenty of power to go as fast as I want. On the big mountain passes I tend to find a nice comfortable spot between semi-trucks (with lots of space...
Solved: Hydraulic systems causing 12v faults
Thanks to everyone who responded on this thread.
Jerrod, you were correct. This morning I replaced the 50A breaker between the battery bank and the 12 volt circuit breaker bank. Everything is working properly now.
It appears that there are 3 50A...

Thanks Jerrod. If I understand the 12V block diagram, that would be the 50A breaker with the teeny manual reset button. Since my 12v system fault is...
I could use some help solving a vexing problem with the hydraulic systems on my 2016 Bighorn. When closing the slides or raising the level-up jacks, I get repeated faults to the entire 12 volt system.
I have read the HOC User Guide on hydraulic slide stops and starts. More on that below...
These are photos from our site at Cottonwood Campground in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Friday and Saturday were beautiful. Today was sunny but hot, hitting 94° at 4 pm.
Your fifth wheel hitch may have adjustments that allow rearward adjustment. I had to adjust my B&W Companion hitch. The adjustment provided more clearance. But it is still possible for the front cap of the Bighorn to touch the truck at extreme turning angles. One more thing for my backing...
Sedona is one of our favorite places. Are you staying at Rancho Sedona?
We have not visited Sedona in the fifth wheel yet, but I have scoped out the options on our last trip. Rancho Sedona looks like the best/only choice right in town.
