I do this exact thing on every other dump. I just buy a big bottle of the cheap Walmart veg oil and dump a cup in kitchen sink, bathroom sink, shower drain and both toilets after I close the valves from dumping. Makes a huge difference!
That switch is for the lights that light up near the floor. You should have one on the lower section of the kitchen island, one in the half bath (if yours is the half bath model), stairs going up to bedroom and also in the main bath. You should have another switch in the bedroom
I replaced that POS Thetford in my Landmark with the Dometic 310 toilet. Very simple process, remove old POS and bolt down the better replacement. Took all of about 30 minutes.
I have the same light fixture in my Landmark. It does twist off but you'll need to get a good grip on it using both hands. It is really hard to turn but it will twist off.
Just FYI for those of you that have the same skylight as mine and will eventually need to replace the bulb. The outer ring twists off and then you have to remove the lens assembly to get to the bulb. The bulb is a G4 and the ring is really hard to twist off. When I say really hard to twist off...
