Sorry to hear you're having trouble.
The 1st fix was to add a 2nd motor to the other jack leg.
This ended up being revised and the current fix is a heavier duty single motor with a lower gearing. This is what was installed on ours and has solved the problem. (We were told that all the new...
Why would you only lift the front of the truck and have an unlevel ride??? Common sense would have you lift the rear as well and that would increase the drive shaft angle. Thus increasing wear. (Probably not much though) Not to mention making the camper ride unlevel from the increased TV ride...
Tony, as you can see from my signature, we also have an "08 4012 and pull with a "06 Dodge 3500 dually CTD. The 4012 is heavy, but the Dodge pulls it fine. As stated before, you just have to take your time and give plenty of braking room. You'd do that pulling any sizable trailer anyway...
As...
Driver, the tire store was telling him he needed a lift to clear the 285's. So they're spot on with the drive line angle change. You're totally right though if he was just going to add the taller tires, but I guess they won't fit without the suspension lift. How about a body lift though Pug? No...
Yeah, great story!
Very nice to hear how Heartland stands up for it's customers time and time again. With a lot of other manufacturers, I'm sure you would have been stuck for quite a few days cutting through the "red tape".
And way to go Larry's RV! In a perfect world, all dealers would treat...
Heartland has realized that they under powered the front jack motors. They have a fix out now for this problem. If you take your unit to your dealer, Heartland with send a new more powerful Atwood motor with a lower gear reduction. I've had all the problems stated above and this fixed it...
Ok, finally got the 4012 back from our dealer and we're back from a long weekend camping with it. Our dealer did construct some flashing behind the vent to catch the rain water and direct it out the bottom of the vents. He said, from the factory, it had some "burlap" with silicon caulk smeared...
Heard from the dealer. Said they are going to try making a better flashing set up behind the fridge vents to catch the rain and funnel it back out. I'll post back if this works.
Please post back if you figure anything out.
Talked to my dealer again yesterday and they still don't have any answers yet.... If it comes back and leaks again this time, that will be 3 failed tries in a row for them.... I don't have much faith.:(
I had a "05 F350, 6.0 and had the same trouble. What a lemon of a truck! Traded it on my "06 Ram CTD and there is no comparison. Awesome truck! Pulls my 4012 with no problem.
The Ford got 11 mpg empty. The Dodge gets 21 empty and around 11 pulling the 4012....
