8 ply or 10 ply tires?

I would consider 10 ply or load range E a minimum! The last time I weighed my rig the pin was 4k, thats when I went to 14 ply. Those silent armors are nice tires and very tough.

    water heater sediment

I just cleaned mine out and changed the zink. I have a little wand for my garden hose. It really cleans it out well. I just keep blasting away until it comes out clean and then I can stick my finger in there and feel the bottom of the tank. You can feel the sediment, then you cant.

    Just bought a new truck

Fords are great trucks. Ford did'nt kill the mpgs, our swell government did. I still dont know how burning more fuel is good for the tree huggers. My Dodge had a few of those emissions parts fall off. Good luck with the new truck, my Ford has been great.

    Houston to Seattle?

I think I would rather stay away from LA. I hope there is'nt another chemical spill.

    Houston to Seattle?

I was thinking about that route. I tried to cut across 58 years ago, but there was a chemical spill and had to go all the way around.

    Houston to Seattle?

Well, the wife and I are moving to Seattle end of March or April. I have made the drive a few times but never with the rv. I was thinking about I-10 to I-40, cut across Cal and hit I-5. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help,Drew

    May Change to Ford

I have a Dodge and a Ford. Both great trucks. The GM HD's ugly and not my taste, but, they are every bit as good as the others. If everyone would buy what they like and take care of it, they are all great. I work in the auto repair world and see them all, just for different things.

    2009 Ram 3500 Mega Dually w/2010 Roadwarrior 395

If you look on some of the Cummins forums, some guys are pulling some sick loads. I'm talking over 30k with trucks like ours. I'm not saying I would do that, but, it shows that the GCWR is just a number. I'm at 24,040, over my GCWR by 40lbs. My Quad cab is rated for 12,200lbs. The mega is...

Funny how you can be under your axle weight but be over on the gcwr. I'm sure that rig pulled it great.

    19.5 wheels...

I feel any increase in saftey is worth it. 12 or 14 ply tires are better than 10. Also, getting more milage out of a set of tires is appealing to me. They look cool too!

    19.5 wheels...

I was looking at the Kuhmo's. What model are they? What are your thoughts on those tires.

    May Change to Ford

Laffin...don't hold back ehh. I have a 7.3 PS and a 6.7 Cummins and have pulled my rig with both trucks. The stock Cummins out pulls the PS with a programer all day long. I love my Ford, but to say the powerstroke is the "industry standard" of diesels is a bit much.

    Reprograming the computer--any experience

Look up smarty. I'm running one with the whole emissions system removed. Great power and no more soot in my motor from the egr.
