8 ply or 10 ply tires?

I would consider 10 ply or load range E a minimum! The last time I weighed my rig the pin was 4k, thats when I went to 14 ply. Those silent armors are nice tires and very tough.

    water heater sediment

I just cleaned mine out and changed the zink. I have a little wand for my garden hose. It really cleans it out well. I just keep blasting away until it comes out clean and then I can stick my finger in there and feel the bottom of the tank. You can feel the sediment, then you cant.

    Just bought a new truck

Fords are great trucks. Ford did'nt kill the mpgs, our swell government did. I still dont know how burning more fuel is good for the tree huggers. My Dodge had a few of those emissions parts fall off. Good luck with the new truck, my Ford has been great.

    Houston to Seattle?

I was thinking about that route. I tried to cut across 58 years ago, but there was a chemical spill and had to go all the way around.

    Houston to Seattle?

Well, the wife and I are moving to Seattle end of March or April. I have made the drive a few times but never with the rv. I was thinking about I-10 to I-40, cut across Cal and hit I-5. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help,Drew

    May Change to Ford

I have a Dodge and a Ford. Both great trucks. The GM HD's ugly and not my taste, but, they are every bit as good as the others. If everyone would buy what they like and take care of it, they are all great. I work in the auto repair world and see them all, just for different things.

    2009 Ram 3500 Mega Dually w/2010 Roadwarrior 395

If you look on some of the Cummins forums, some guys are pulling some sick loads. I'm talking over 30k with trucks like ours. I'm not saying I would do that, but, it shows that the GCWR is just a number. I'm at 24,040, over my GCWR by 40lbs. My Quad cab is rated for 12,200lbs. The mega is...

    2009 Ram 3500 Mega Dually w/2010 Roadwarrior 395

Funny how you can be under your axle weight but be over on the gcwr. I'm sure that rig pulled it great.

    19.5 wheels...

I feel any increase in saftey is worth it. 12 or 14 ply tires are better than 10. Also, getting more milage out of a set of tires is appealing to me. They look cool too!

    May Change to Ford

Laffin...don't hold back ehh. I have a 7.3 PS and a 6.7 Cummins and have pulled my rig with both trucks. The stock Cummins out pulls the PS with a programer all day long. I love my Ford, but to say the powerstroke is the "industry standard" of diesels is a bit much.

    Reprograming the computer--any experience

Look up smarty. I'm running one with the whole emissions system removed. Great power and no more soot in my motor from the egr.

Thats not luck, thats the norm for a 7.3. I have a 02 that i gave to the wife to drive. When she drives away, I still look at the truck adoringly, I mean the wife......

Ford's Scorpion plant in Chihuahua Mexico

    Tow Vehicle Setup - requirements?

Early 6.0 problems were blown head gaskets, and injectors. The Egr cooler can be a problem as well. Ford sued Navistar over that engine, it was'nt the best but I know a few guys that have had no problems. Look on you tube under 7.3 vs. 6.0 powerstroke. It's quite interesting.

Trail Air Pin Box for 2010 3610RE

Hey Ray! That Glide looks like the Mor ryde with a shock. Am I seeing it correctly? Looks like it would work great.

    Enough truck?

No! With that weight you need a dually. The duramax will pull it but that rig will have a high pin weight. There are people using 3/4 ton trucks. Do you own a truck now? I used to live in Oregon and plan on going back with the rv. Thats why I have a Dodge 3500 DRW with E brake.

big horn 3580rl fridge problems resolved?

There is a thermal fuse on the cooling fins. You can remove it and wire in a auto type fuse to run all the time. Maybe you dont need this in Washington, but like Augusta said in real hot climates like Tx it is needed.
  23. D

    Enough truck

I'm guesing the HD means dually? That rig needs a DRW.

    Roadwarrior 395 & Dodge Ram 2500 (6.7L)

If you find some other authority that tells you other wise, they are wrong. I have a BH 3600RL thats over 16,000lbs and tow it with a Dually and feel i'm at close to my limit. I'm about to put some 19.5 wheels and load range G tires on my truck. The guys on the Cummins forums pull some sick...

    Timbrens on a 3500

Is anyone using Timbrens on a 3500 truck. I have a 07 Dodge 3500 DRW 4x4 with a BH3600RL. The truck is a little less than level. Wondering if theTimbrens would work. I really dont want air bags. My pin is right under 4k. Thanks for any info, Drew

    anybody have a 2010 bighorn 3610RE???

I would agree with Augusta. We have a 3600RL thats 16,040. We tow it with a Dodge 3500 DRW.

    What brand do you recommend???

Are you planning on keeping the truck out of warranty? If so, then I would go with the Dodge. Pop the hood on all three and you will see what I'm talking about. I feel a Diesel should be an inline six. I would also get the 4x4. I drove a ford f250 for years with an auto and went to a Dodge...

Did I mess Up? (or not)

Going back to the weight police. How could they know if you had your rear end changed to .410 gears. How would they even know what gears your running stock. They would have to run your vin with a dealer. As far as pulling all these trucks can pull huge weights. The Cummins with the e brake can...

    3500 Dodge tow limits

I agree with the above statements. I have also heard it has to do with how fast the TV will accelerate with X amount of lbs. It's funny to me to limit the 373's to that weight. Same truck, same suspension, and 3000lbs less tow capacity. I dont think so.

Did I mess Up? (or not)

They are 2008 Ford mirrors and they are much better than the older style. Much bigger glass. They will bolt right on to your truck with no problems. The only thing you may have to change is the plug for the wire harness. Drew....

Did I mess Up? (or not)

As you can see, I have the 3/4 ton truck covered:). I do feel for you. You really do need a dually. Good luck to you. Drew If it makes you feel any better, I know two guys that pull 40 toy haulers with SRW Dodge trucks..............

Did I mess Up? (or not)

I have a 3600 RL. I towed it once empty with my F-250. When we hooked it up at the dealer my bride said we could get a new truck. We now have a F-250 and a Dodge DRW,3500, 4x4, quad cab.
