Escort to DMV needed for a "Non Commercial License" (Class A)

Al; You're welcome...and I loved the hamburger. Hope you guys have fun in the desert this weekend. I just wish more people in this state realized the importance of getting licensed properly. Now...pat yourself on the back for a job well-done. Steven

Escort to DMV needed for a "Non Commercial License" (Class A)

DesertThumper; I'm open on Thursday, the 3rd. I'm in Bakersfield, and can meet you in Valencia or Lancaster. I only ask for some help with the fuel bill. Steven

    Labeling Auxiliary Slides Switch

My 2008 Bighorn already had these labeled. I don't know if it was done at the factory, or the dealer did it. Probably the latter, for the benefit of the "lot Boys" to do the prep work and not get too confused....

Slideout issue - stops part way, wait, then finish?

To my way of thinking, if one breaker trips, and the second one is there, there would not be current to operate, since the circuit is open with the tripped breaker. With this thought, having the second breaker there is not the solution. I fixed the problem with the single larger breaker, and...

Slideout issue - stops part way, wait, then finish?

This is the same thing mine was doing. Did research here, and found it to be the weak breaker. I ordered one off Ebay, and changed it out myself. I got the 80 Amp unit with a manual reset, and have not had to reset it as yet, so it fixed the problem. Total job was very easy and fast. I have...

    Sant Barbara, California

I'm at the Thousand Trails campground, Rancho Oso, which is in the mountains East of the city, and close to Solvang. I usually see at least a Bighorn, and sometimes even a Landmark trailer here. Not this time though. Been here for a week now, and not a sighting in the whole time. No...

    I love our bighorn

We are headed out tomorrow for our annual week-long "trailering" in the mountains near Santa Barbara. First trip of the year, so far everything looks good from the winter storage. We are members of Thousand Trails (yeah, I know) and use their preserves as often as we can. If we camp at least...

    Grand Canyon recommendations?

I stayed there in 2010, on the way home from Yellowstone. We stayed at the KOA in Williams, right off the 40. I drove by the other KOA, on the way out to the park. There was nothing out there for shade, and it looked too new for the trees. I highly recommend the Williams KOA, a very nice...

    Safety Inspections... Fellow Texans

People here are correct....If you are PROPERLY licensed to operate the vehicle you are doing so in, in your state, then you are legal in California. The differences are minor, but there are laws here you still have to follow, like the helmet law for motorcycles. If towing, the speed limit is...

    Defective lighting fixture?

I can't answer the first part, but the screws come loose all the time on my BH. I just get the screw gun out and reattach them the best I can. Doesn't help much, but you now know you are not alone in this....

    "Here's Your Sign"

I have a sign that I had made at our local craft faire. I'm a hunter, so I got the deer on one side, and my wife loves to scrap-book, so they put a photo album on the other side. Seems appropriate, and it looks great. I also hang it from the pin box, to show everyone that walks by. Sorry, no...

    NADA values too high!

I am thinking of doing just that, only in Arizona. I had to wait until I retired from Law Enforcement, as my boss doesn't like it when we violate the laws of the state we reside in....

    NADA values too high!

I can only WISH to pay those fees in California....My Bighorn and truck are both newer, and as such it costs a lot each year. Then every time the budget takes a hit for the little pet projects and people standing at the mail box every month on the 1st, they raise these fees, again, to help. I...

    slides stop pulling in

Update to my earlier post; The battery cable I used was only 4 ga., and I had it here at the house. I didn't buy it for the size to use it here. I agree, a 6 ga. wire would be just fine. I'm thrifty enough to use things that I already have instead of buying more. Steven

    slides stop pulling in

Ninerman; Look at the pics on this thread, and go from there. The small breakers that come on the trailer are covered with red rubber cases. Follow the wire from the slide electrical switch, to the breakers. Disconnect that wire at the breaker, and connect it to the new breaker, on the AUX...
