Originally I wrote to service@heartlandrvs.com who had a tech email me directly with answers. They have been very responsive so far with me, even if this last response about the roof is now questionable.
As far as coating the roof, it is CRITICAL the correct product is used to keep the membrane...
Stonz, I just realized I never answered your question regarding coating the roof membrane and, from your description of the issues you’ve had with keeping yours clean, I can see you wanting to recoat it to bring back the original white. Mine cleans well enough to not need that so far and...
Goose, looking at the pix closer, I doubt the siding is the difference, since the pix show fiberglass on the ‘14 model too, so maybe they had the same roof construction back then as now? I should send those pix to the same tech to see what he says about his comment!
Stonz,
To add to Goose’ reply, I’ve only used my outdoor shower to do winterizing and have never noticed a lack of flow, so Goose may be right about a kink in the line.
Goose, very interesting pix of the 2014, though I wonder how much the roof has changed with the newer Azdel siding units like...
Very true, I would never recommend using a pressure washer to clean the roof membrane. Using a brush and the proper cleaners at least twice a year, if not sheltered, should get good results without damaging the most sensitive part of a camper!
FYI: I contacted Heartland just 2 weeks ago when I was about to order a rear ladder for my NT 27RBDS, my asking the Tech if there is any ”backing” along the roof and rear wall to attach the ladder and he EMPHATICALLY told me there is no backing because NO North Trail comes with a walkable roof...
True, we’ve seen a few Mallards in our travels, knowing they are basically the same units. It’s a shame more owners aren’t aware of the Owners Forum benefits to themselves.
In almost 2 years of owning our 2019 NT 27RBDS, in all the travels we’ve enjoyed with it, we have only ONCE seen another NT and it just happened to be the same model as ours in the same campground, but it was 2 years older! I don’t know if it’s a regional thing or just not promoted very well...
The larger socket on the door side of the trailer is for the grill mount that typically came with the Caliber models. The grill and brackets came in a fairly large box that would likely be under the bed when delivered to the dealer. When we bought ours, I had to question the dealer why a “grill”...
Sam22, welcome to the North Trail family! We have a 2019 NT 27RBDS that is a Caliber model with options that were not included on the non-Caliber model, such as power stabilizers, large farmhouse-type sink, 15K AC, central vacuum, hidden cabinet hinges and carrier rack on the back. However...
One of the few items of our North Trail that I disliked was the dual sewer connections, especially when the 2nd grey-water tank outlet was under the large slide and just behind the wheels, plus the pull handle was at an odd angle! So I decided to do something about it after 18 months of multiple...
Hopefully by now you’ve had this repaired or at least know what you’re up against, but YOUTUBE is very helpful to know how to adjust that slide, as I’ve done just last week after pulling the facia off that slide to get to the cables. However, with the motor ripped off the wall, getting that...
Yes, I was shocked at the statement, but since I didn’t see my old flooring or the new before the vinyl was installed, I can only hope it was actually OSB and he was just giving a generalization.
Okay, though there hasn’t been any replies or comments to my post, we picked up our NT today from the dealer with the floor repair completed after about 45 days. Apparently my concerns were not necessary as the job was completed nicely, with the subfloor and vinyl of the entire front 12’ of...
