Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

Originally I wrote to service@heartlandrvs.com who had a tech email me directly with answers. They have been very responsive so far with me, even if this last response about the roof is now questionable. As far as coating the roof, it is CRITICAL the correct product is used to keep the membrane...

Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

Stonz, I just realized I never answered your question regarding coating the roof membrane and, from your description of the issues you’ve had with keeping yours clean, I can see you wanting to recoat it to bring back the original white. Mine cleans well enough to not need that so far and...

Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

Goose, looking at the pix closer, I doubt the siding is the difference, since the pix show fiberglass on the ‘14 model too, so maybe they had the same roof construction back then as now? I should send those pix to the same tech to see what he says about his comment!

Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

Stonz, To add to Goose’ reply, I’ve only used my outdoor shower to do winterizing and have never noticed a lack of flow, so Goose may be right about a kink in the line. Goose, very interesting pix of the 2014, though I wonder how much the roof has changed with the newer Azdel siding units like...

Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

Very true, I would never recommend using a pressure washer to clean the roof membrane. Using a brush and the proper cleaners at least twice a year, if not sheltered, should get good results without damaging the most sensitive part of a camper!

Can I walk on my North Trail 23 RBS 2014 to pressure spray the dirt and caterpillar crap

FYI: I contacted Heartland just 2 weeks ago when I was about to order a rear ladder for my NT 27RBDS, my asking the Tech if there is any ”backing” along the roof and rear wall to attach the ladder and he EMPHATICALLY told me there is no backing because NO North Trail comes with a walkable roof...

Why aren’t North Trails more popular???

True, we’ve seen a few Mallards in our travels, knowing they are basically the same units. It’s a shame more owners aren’t aware of the Owners Forum benefits to themselves.

Why aren’t North Trails more popular???

In almost 2 years of owning our 2019 NT 27RBDS, in all the travels we’ve enjoyed with it, we have only ONCE seen another NT and it just happened to be the same model as ours in the same campground, but it was 2 years older! I don’t know if it’s a regional thing or just not promoted very well...

    Unknown Black Tubular Bar

The larger socket on the door side of the trailer is for the grill mount that typically came with the Caliber models. The grill and brackets came in a fairly large box that would likely be under the bed when delivered to the dealer. When we bought ours, I had to question the dealer why a “grill”...

    Unknown Black Tubular Bar

If your NT has a fold-down rack on the back, it’s a post to secure bicycles to the rack, fitting into the receiver in the center of the rack.

What's the difference between a Caliber model and regular?

Sam22, welcome to the North Trail family! We have a 2019 NT 27RBDS that is a Caliber model with options that were not included on the non-Caliber model, such as power stabilizers, large farmhouse-type sink, 15K AC, central vacuum, hidden cabinet hinges and carrier rack on the back. However...

Converting dual dump outlet to SINGLE!

One of the few items of our North Trail that I disliked was the dual sewer connections, especially when the 2nd grey-water tank outlet was under the large slide and just behind the wheels, plus the pull handle was at an odd angle! So I decided to do something about it after 18 months of multiple...

    Manual Slide Operation

Hopefully by now you’ve had this repaired or at least know what you’re up against, but YOUTUBE is very helpful to know how to adjust that slide, as I’ve done just last week after pulling the facia off that slide to get to the cables. However, with the motor ripped off the wall, getting that...

    Laminated floor repair

Yes, I was shocked at the statement, but since I didn’t see my old flooring or the new before the vinyl was installed, I can only hope it was actually OSB and he was just giving a generalization.

    Laminated floor repair

Okay, though there hasn’t been any replies or comments to my post, we picked up our NT today from the dealer with the floor repair completed after about 45 days. Apparently my concerns were not necessary as the job was completed nicely, with the subfloor and vinyl of the entire front 12’ of...

    Laminated floor repair

Has anyone else out there had the need to have their Heartland laminated floor repaired due to water damage and, if so, was the dealer successful in making it “invisible”? It was discovered in our 2019 North Trail, just prior to the 1st year warranty expiring, that the piping coming through the...

Awning LED issues when rains .......

This posted in another spot in the forum, but I’ve had no response there, so thought this might be a more appropriate spot to post: Has anyone else had issues with their LED strip in the awning roller, particularly when it rains? Our 2019 has had issues in the Solara awning LED strip since...

LED strip issues in Solara awning

Has anyone else had issues with their LED strip in the awning roller, particularly when it rains? Our 2019 has had issues since purchasing new a year ago, even after the strip was replaced by the dealer for the 2nd time a couple weeks ago. The problem seems to start when the awning gets wet and...

    Fresh water plumbing diagram 27RBDS

Thanks Danemayer, I was hoping they might have that available. As far as filling or even on the city water connection, I always use one of the in-line filters on the outside fills, so I actually have 3 filters in-use for all our fresh water. It’s easy to sacrifice the outside filter where...

Water Leak - Pump and Strainer question

Parallon, I see there haven’t been any replies to your questions, so I thought I would throw my experience in here to see if you still need answers. Our 2019 27RBDS had an issue after de-winterizing where the pump ran constantly, but didn’t supply any water. I assumed the pump diaphragm had...

    Fresh water plumbing diagram 27RBDS

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a plumbing diagram for the fresh water lines on a 2019 27RBDS? Landmark awning LED strip lights

<p> When we picked up our new 27RBDS last August, the LED strip in the channel of the awning roller had 3 LEDs that stayed Red, no matter what color you chose on the remote. They replaced the strip at the dealership and all has been fine, until we "camped" a couple months ago at home and...

    Underseat storage in Dinette area

If it’s a booth Dinette like our 2019 27RBDS, both sides have full storage beneath the seats, but because the outside ends are curved, you have to remove the cushions to access the storage. Lots of space there in ours in the King slide, just wish it had doors on the ends.

My 2019 NT 27RBDS has the BAL Accuslide that has the cables & motor on the wall above the slide room itself. Homemade “snap-pad” substitute for Cheap!

Because we have a North Trail 27RBDS, I wanted to be sure my fellow NT owners noticed the tip I added to the main Heartland Forum page under “Modifications”, in case you only follow the North Trail Community. Stabilizer pad option instead of “snap-pads” (low cost!)

NP_Chief, I used the socket to make sure the drill bit was going into the center of the odd-shaped webbing of the “waffle”, since the small end of that socket fit tightly into the web where the screws needed to be. That way I was sure the flanged head of the drill-point screws would seat flat...

Stabilizer pad option instead of “snap-pads” (low cost!)

Perhaps others have come up with ideas to make their plastic or rubber stabilizer “pads” work like the costly “snap-pads” that are preferred by many, but with all the other accessories we’d like to add to our North Trail TT, it’s just not in the cards for us in our retirement years, but...
