    1st camp with mpg 185

If it "locks out" again I'm going to replace the dang thing with a conventional "AC only" refer! I have sleep apnea, sleep with a C-PAP breathing machine (requires ac power) so I will ALWAYS have "shore" power (no boondoggling).

OK, refer is up and running. The heating elements were "locked out" and the "board" had to be reset ($115). Really - Norcold can't "design in" a reset switch? I've read posts giving instructions for "resetting the board" but isn't there a more permanent / user friendly fix?

    1st camp with mpg 185

I have not tried propane - just "ac" and "auto" settings. I'll try propane next time I take it out (weekend of 01/25 weather permitting).

I turned it on 1st thing Friday morning and off Sunday morning - nothing. I try propane next trip.

    1st camp with mpg 185

Spent the weekend at Brazos Bend State Park, TX. No significant problems other than: 1) I left my ice cooler outside - Coons broke in and stole/ate all my food (that won't happen again), 2) Norcold fridge doesn't cool - mpg is level, fridge has power (digital controls are active) but no...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ There be power to my mpg! With my FLUKE 115 multimeter in hand I started at the AC outlet (122 volts), checked continuity on the 30 to 15 amp adapter (all 3 terminals passed), plugged everything in to check the terminals that connect to the mpg and NOTHING...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ I have FLUKE 115, off New Years Day and will be checking everything I have access to. I'll deal with the furnace later - 1st goal is AC power. The journey continues.......

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ Brainstorm - talked with a SUPER good friend of mine from South Carolina (Glen Simpson - owner of Palmetto Truck & RV) and he recommends checking the GFCIs! Duh - GFCIs in a travel trailer? Never even crossed my mind. If one of those is tripped I may not see...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ OK - I give up! I have AC power up to the mpg socket, found the converter, cycled all breakers, pulled / inspected the 2-40 amp main fuses and I can't find anything wrong. I pulled the cover off the thermostat and there is no "Off" switch. I pulled the dang...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ I "inherited" this mpg from my mom (has dementia) so there is NO telling where the original paperwork is? I'll dig around more tomorrow but if I can't find anything I'll haul the thing to my local Heartland dealer here in Houston and pay them to show me...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ The original battery is at Mom's house and I consider it useless! I purchased a brand new Interstate srm-27 Friday. Where the heck is this converter located on a mpg 185??????? I have no idea what it looks like or it's location. I do not and cannot find a mpg...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ It's not the "roof" fan, it's the blower on the furnace under the bed! I'll look again tomorrow but the thermostat has only one adjustment - the temp set "slide" on the bottom of the thermostat. No second "off/cool/heat" toggle switch! This mpg has never been...

SOLVED - AC Power Issue with MPG 185

Re: mpg 185 issues............ OK, I'll stop by tomorrow, install the battery and try again. I'm new to travel trailers but can't imagine for the life of me why the battery would be required for AC usage? The battery is DC and should be bypassed when using AC!
