This Caliber Forum is really quiet, very few posts. I wonder how Caliber sales are going nationwide? We love our new Caliber & would like to be in touch via this forum with other Caliber owners. Anyone out there with a new one?

I have had a similar problem with one hinge in our Caliber 315 REDS. I was able to fix it (with a slightly longer screw), but after a close look at the construction I agree that Heartland could find a better hinge setup. I also believe it has to do with the hydraulic strut being positioned...

Cookie, thanks for the reply. Moving the mattress to change sheets, make the bed, etc. is now much easier with the plastic sheeting.I was unaware of the strength factor. Maybe the factory could/should install something like we have done to eliminate the problem in the first place? Duramax rules!

Perhaps I could offer a suggestion for the Caliber people? The wooden base for the bed is made from particle board. Whenever I move the mattress, it leaves many many slivers of that particle board on the floor & also stuck to the bottom of the mattress. Needless to say, you don't want to step on...
