I went from Unicorn Express tires to the Goodyear G614's. You should have no problem with the clearance and the ride. I find they actually don't heat up as much as the china bombs when on long trips. Oh, and they were made in the USA. (Stamped right on them). Are your china bombs wearing...

I'm pretty close on the gap between my tires, I can't go any larger on the OD. If I remember correctly the XPS's (235/85R16) are 32" on the OD and the G614's (LT235/85R16) are 30.7". Also with the G614's being a G rated vs E rated for the XPS ribs, I'm leaning towards the Goodyears. I've got...
