    Utah 5

There is a RV park/resort on the east side of Zion called Ponderosa. The site are not that great but the staff will take you to a back entrance to the park where after a short walk, you are on the top of the canyon. The buses and people look like little ants down below but hiking along the rim...

Brighton, Colorado to KOA at Mount Rushmore

We liked the Custer campground a lot but we loved the City run park in Spearfish. Beautiful sites and trees plus a fish hatchery/museum. Fairly easy to get into and is close to Rushmore and the other sites. Enjoy

British Columbia & Southern Alberta Info?

Calagary is short on Campgrounds but there are a couple at Okotoks and High River which are about 20 miles out on the south side off of hiway 2. It is best to park there and drive into the south side of the city where you can board an LRT train that can take you anywhere cheaply and very low...

taking the 101 up through Washington to Port Angeles

We are pulling a new Newport (42') and wondering if this highway is too tight for this unit. Any input would be appreciated. We were also thinking of taking the ferry over to Vancouver. Any thoughts on this??? Thanks for any and all input

No more powdercoat on the frame. What?????

Re: Bighorn Frames The answer I got back from the factory was that they are not sure what Lippert does to the frames they supply to Heartland. I can not believe that Heartland would not know whether their frames are treated with a coating that costs an extra thousand dollars or more. The same...

    Hydraulic question

Thanks for this great post. We have had these issues with the hydraulics and I will go through the trouble shooting list ASAP on the 2017. The auto resetting circuit breaker was the culprit in our 2012 Grand Canyon and we had to order from Heartland as we couldn't find otherwise. Thanks again!!!

No more powdercoat on the frame. What?????

Re: Read HL Stop Powder Coating Frames? When we first noticed the rust, Heartland said they no longer Powdercoated the frames. One respondent claimed his was made in February 2017 and his was Powdercoated. Put this to Heartland and they now claim they don't know what Lippert does to the...

    Our Newport Update

We did and they won't service Heartland anymore.

    Our Newport Update

We took delivery of our 2017 Newport in December and took it to Indio for the winter. It is interesting that all of you seem to have the same opinion about changes and quality and fit of the finish. We had to fight to get Heartland to install the right size topper on one of our slides and we are...

First tow with new 2017 Ram 3500 dually - just my 2 cents

Congratulations. I have been buying dually's for the last thirty years and only tried a swd for a year in all that time. After two close calls with a 15k Bighorn, we went back and couldn't be happier. Believe it or not , you will be parallel parking that bad boy before you know it. Enloy!!!

No more powdercoat on the frame. What?????

Our new 2017 Landmark Newport has survived a trip to Indio in California and all went well. Just noticed the frame and hitch are rusting and when I contacted Heartland, was informed they no longer powdercoat these items. Our 2012 had zero rust after four years so we are wondering what would be a...

    Flamables storage?

WE keep all the volatile flammables in a steel box in the truck bed. In industry, flammables are usually required to be kept in a steel box of sorts that is not flammable and limits the amount of air that can feed a fire plus protects the containers from damage. The propane tanks are vented thus...

2016 - Las Vegas Rally - Discussion Thread

Re: UPDATE: 2016 - Las Vegas Rally Looks like a very concise set of rules and just hope the resort enforces them.
