Yep! All new. I got to exercise my brain and hands again. Retired now for six years from aviation. I wore many hats, from working on the bench, engineering, inspector , project manager. I liked the bench the best!.....responsible for your own work... no headaches.... no "politics".

Finally completed hand made contacts assembly for the shoreline reel. As posted before, mine burned out. Manufacturer doesn't sell parts nor does anyone else. No one in town would touch the project. $600 brick is now fixed. Went threw a lot of trouble but what the heck, I'm retired , have time...

I have the same problem and posted with pictures with burnt connections.. Same answer from manufacturer.. In process of making new assembly using heavier contacts hand made. I'm using 510 phosphor bronze spring tempered, new copper plated steel studs, lock washer nuts and new phenolic plate...

Nice job! I have the same problem now. My contacts burned out and lost there spring tension. I have .125 thick phenolic for a plate but will upgrade the .020 thick contacts to .040. Threaded studs are 10-32 copper plated steel. Will upgrade to 1/4-20 studs. I think the parts will carry the load...

Yeah.... that's what they told me... liability issues... BUT.... I'd like to sell them a car, tv, refrigerator, vacuum, etc.. When they break ... well .. I'll sell them new. Just about any repair job has potential harmful risks. Repair parts is still big business in any form.
