Bighorns recessed halogen lights are first class! (would like rheostat switches like the Jaycos) Soft touch ceilings? Put them in the same class as carpeted ceilings. Never have seen living quarters with either, hows come they put 'em a trailer? Cant imagine if one got damaged and how to repair...
"Another big consideration also is can you and the spouse get along being confined in a small space and being together constantly."
You said a mouth full there Jim! Try to do that in a 10' truck camper with a dog on just a long weekend.
Re: Off Topic - To Moderator
Back on the floors. Our new one has floors as solid as the "Rock of Gibraltar"! I am still amazed at how solid they feel over our prior trailer. The floors will actually even put our stick home to shame! I saw a post on the other forum some time ago how they thought...
We will be spending 3 months this winter in the new rig. Although its super nice by the end of the the 3 months I know I will be going stark raving nuts! I need my SPACE. I like to go out in the garage a piddle around and work of a few ATV's for some beer money. Play in the yard and mess with...
I have a pretty fast connection and although I can load and navigate through the site it is still herky jerky. Scroll the mouse and it sits there and eventually jerks into position. Ironically this forum site is some what slower than others I visit also. Both sites could use some simplifying. I...
We crossed over at BC, in a truck camper, and was told to pull up in front of a building the officer pointed out. Sat there for 10 minutes and no one showed up. Saw cars going down another lane. Decided we were suppose to follow them. Next thing we were driving down the road to our destination...
Went to my first NASCAR race a couple of years ago in Las Vegas. Cost a small fortune for tickets, flight and hotel. Sat in the stands near the top of turn one. Firsts and last time I will ever do that again! Couldn't see nothing! Seats made for a 10 year old. Felt like a cow going to slaughter...
When we got our new unit I belly ached until I got a belly ache about not having a shower seat or a towel bar on the shower door. Bought a shower seat stool and stuck it in the shower. Now I was sharing space with a stinking stool! All my 65 years I have always dried off in the shower. Thought...
Nice Dave, where is the beer fridge? I have always had a interest in barns. An acquaintance of ours has a barn that they put there MH in. It has a kitchen setup on one wall a bathroom and a bedroom. I always wondered if you heat the whole building or just the RV while staying in it. If just the...
I use a ladder rack for lawn chairs. Cheap and easy. Put the rack on a lower ladder rung and then strap/bungee your ladder to it. I have 4-6-8 foot ladders at home so I saw no sense in buying a specialty ladder. Ladder rack link
Tom I have the same setup you do but I'll be darned if I can remember any tricks. I do remember I have to set the Sammy to D-IN to make it work. I seldom use surround except for a movie because it sounds good enough from the TV speakers for us. But I do know it works. If the BH wasnt in storage...
Ya, It use to be leather chairs with Godiva at no extra charge. We wanted Saddle so had to pop the extra $700. But they exchanged to the Godiva kitchen chairs for no extra cost.
I replaced the shower door in our old 3055 and did not have to remove any part of the bed. You have to remove the top trim pieces If I recall. Took no time at all with a cord less drill.
I emailed Airwedge about the dimensions and got this reply.
Hi Bill
Thank you for your interest in the Rv Awning Airwedge! The Airwedge is 8 feet long, 2 feet wide, 6 inches at the rear and 2 inches at the front. One RV Awning Airwedge will give sufficient support for toppers up to 14 feet...
I use one of these from Harbor Freight all the time as we have no water hook up in the summer. This is the second trailer we have used it for hundreds of gallons and it has been flawless.
Looking around at RV sites and ran into the new Jayco Pinnacle. Last year we looked at the Designer RE and went with our 3610RE because it was layed out much better. Looks like the Pinnacle took the Bighorn floor plan. Guess it you cant lick 'em, join 'em! Still like some features of our better...
We spent 2 days at the Sugarloaf Keys RV park 6 years ago. $85 per night in a site without sewer hook up and no beach! Crips, its probably $185 now. They would send out a sewer truck for the paltry sum of $20. Only bugs the bugged us were the no seeum's. Pesky little rascals!
Re: Cheap china tires
Better get use to Chinese tires. The Chinese own the USA now. Wont be long when Mom, Apple Pie and Chevrolet have "Made in China" on 'em.
The easiest way is to buy a new Bighorn they come standard with them. The cheapest is replace the existing ones. I used the screw on ones old our older Bighorn. Just remove the caulking around the old ones, take them off, and screw on the new ones and re-caulk it. Its not too bad a job and is...
Yep takes seconds to move the slide IF it is really necessary. Sure didn't sway our decision. Guess we spend more time at the site than worrying about getting in a refer on the road.
Knocking on wood. Ours ran for 5 months straight on level 5 and never got above 39 degrees and that was after we filled it with warm items. stayed between 32 and 34 most of the time. The power was even off several times and it had switch to gas with no problem. Will say we were at 9000 feet and...
Did notice pictures that were not up to date. Lots of folks think they are going to get what they see. Lots of folks know you are probably not. Need to keep pictures current, as it does not take much to shoot a picture and put it on a web site. Pretty good web site all in all, but some what...
Just some of my egg stories. An aunt of mine learned in home ec class to remove the "twister", the umbilical cord. before you used and egg. Should would only eat her own home made cakes, cookies and other baked itemes because she wasnt sure the twister was removed. I wont eat "farm fresh" eggs...
Re: Thor quality and service
Got to thinking about this awhile. We are on our 3rd Bighorn dealer in this area in 4 years. The warranty is only as good as the dealer. The present dealer wanted to take pictures and email to get permission to change a two bit cable end that took me 2 minutes to do...
Just shortly before we ordered out new 3610 Renee and I stayed in LasVegas and the new tower at the Golden Nugget. They had Vessel sinks. First time I ever used them. What a PITA. Almost knocked my front teeth out bending over them. Just don't get it, glad they weren't on our hidden option...
