    Another Residential Fridge Install Experience

Very nice job. Obviously you got the platinum instead of stainless since her magnets stick. We have the same exact fridge and love it a lot.

    Winter in Texas ???

I agree with Trace. Central Texas is hard to beat in the winter. Very little wind and lower humidity than the coast. Having grown up in West Texas, I could't believe how nice the Fall, Winter, and Spring were, when I moved here in '79. Of course our summers are 5 months long.

    Wisconsin Camping

My wife was born in WI and her parents are both Badgers, class of '50. I have toured all over that state with them a couple times over the years, but never in an RV. We especially enjoyed Door County. Enjoy while you can. I've never experienced your winter.

New F-350 --- 450 miles and getting average 20 mpg

That's easy. Set it up as a separate vehicle while towing. Of course if you do both on the same tank of fuel, you can either omit that fill up or suffer some accuracy.

New F-350 --- 450 miles and getting average 20 mpg

Fuelly.com. It's free. I have always logged my fuel and mileage in a book for tax purposes. Now I use Fuelly.com, but I still haven't given up the book, yet. I bought a '93 XLT when it was new. I believe I paid around 22,500 for it. I put 256K on it and sold it to our surveyor, who continued...

New F-350 --- 450 miles and getting average 20 mpg

I assume you are speaking about a DRW since you referred to the 4.30's as an option. Here is my actual mileage while not towing, over 43K mi. It is strictly miles driven divided by gallons used, over a large number of miles and fillups. Don't get lured by the "Dreamer"

    Breaker keeps Tripping on Generator

Just an idea for the elimination process. Check the J-box just outside the generator. There have been several cases, including mine, where the wiring was loose in the wire nuts. Mine would trip the breakers, then eventually burnt up the transfer switch. I found scorched wiring in the J-box. I...

Who put that bomb there? Tire help. Blowmax victim. 4100 King

pharmafrog, sorry for your troubles. If you read all the Towmax topics, you will see that there is often a 2nd failure shortly after. Not sure if it is due to damage caused during the 1st. I took my 4100 straight to Discount Tire and replaced 6 tires before ever hitting the road. I wouldn't...

How is it pulling these 3 axles toy haulers??

The 2nd bath has it's own tank and dump valve. BTW, the lavatory also drains into that black tank too. I think they are even offering a sprayer for that tank now, which is a huge improvement.

How is it pulling these 3 axles toy haulers??

I pulled a 4100 for 17K mi. With my F350 CC DRW it was 61' bumper to bumper. 3 axles have a tendency to scrub if you turn tight. No getting around that. However, they are necessary if you want a big gargage and a decent size cabin. Just make sure you have quality tires and they will do fine. I...

    Fed up with dealership

You will figure out that the best way to keep your sanity and your RV is to learn how to make repairs yourself. ExploreUSA is just like any other dealer and at the mercy of the severe skilled labor shortage going on in Texas right now. I am dealing with this labor shortage myself, in the...

    RZR XP4 1000 in Cyclone 4000

Hey Alex. That is one great looking RAZOR. Pretty ingenious way to make your space work. When I bought the 4100 with 12" garage, I was truly stumped that it only had 11' 0" clear space on the inside (3 season doors). Luckily my Mule was only 10' 10". I had one whole inch to spare front and back...

    B&W OEM companion hitch information

Re: B&W OEM companion hitch information Beck-mark, my apologies. I was thinking lithium and I said silicon. It is the white lithium spray that I used, WD40 brand. It makes a very minimal mess.

    B&W OEM companion hitch information

I agree with RoadJunkie. With a long bed, move the weight as far forward as possible. The Ford side rails are not as tall as the GM I had previously. I ran mine on the middle height position and had tons of clearance for the bed rails. I sprayed the nylon shoulders with silicon spray every time...

Ram 3500 vs Ford F350 Highway MPG Comparison - TFL Truck Review

This is over 15,781 towed miles only with my former 2013 F350 DRW towing the 4100. We crossed the scales at 30,350. I wish my diesel pusher would get anywhere close to this.

    DEF Information

The $7000 deal is due to DEF getting past the filters and into the injectors and injector lines. Not sure how that plays out differently with Rams, but I wouldn't want to give it a try. Unfortunately I know more than one case of this happening here in town, let alone here on the forum.

Burned up power cord -- what is the cause? What damage could there be?

The most likely cause of burnt wiring is a loose connection. It is rarely due to an overload, which will usually trip a breaker before burning the wires. I agree with the PD over the Surge Guard, whether hard wired or portable.

Help, residential refer versus RV refer pros and cons

I never had any trouble with my Norcold, but knew that it would come one day. It never really kept things very frozen. I believe they actually use more power while running on AC than a new residential fridge. Now we love our residential fridge. IMO, unless you simply tow from one FHU site to...

    Adding Solar to my RW

The only rigs I know of that try to run AC's off off batteries have 16 6V batteries and two inverters. Even then they are very limited to how much run time. I have 6 batteries and can run the RF easily overnight, with a little TV, satellite, and LED lights.

    Synthetic oil

If you are into testing and changing oil based on test results, it may be feasible. If you are one that is going to change it every 5K no matter what, it is a waste of money. I put 35-40k on my truck every year. No way am I going to pay for synthetic and the cost of testing 3-4 times per year...

buying new truck need new hitch

I'm partial to B&W. I had both the Turnover Ball Companion and the Ford OEM Companion. Whatever you get, get one that matches the pucks. It would be a shame to not utilize that option of easy removal, 2 min in/out, no tools. Best option Ford ever came out with IMO.

    Clone II - 2016 Cyclone 4100

Congratulations. You did everything we would have done on a 2nd one. Sounds like a really nice rig. There were not many things we didn't like with our 4100, just needed a few upgrades like yours. Although, I have to say that we really liked the vessel sink.

    Fridge / Battery Experiment

You might want to do a little more research about the level of discharge. The commonly used benchmark is 50%. If you constantly go below that you will shorten your batteries life drastically. This applies to both high-end flooded lead acid batteries like Trojans and AGM's. Lithium ions may be...

    Landmark - Residential Refrigerator

Re: ATF: Landmark - Residential Refrigerator You will probably have to do some minor modifications for the height. The Samsung RF18 is a little taller than the Norcold. Some people sacrifice the drawer space below. We lost space in the cabinet above. The RF18 has been great so far.

    2010 road warrior brake question

Not sure which axles you have Lippert or Dexter. You should contact them with the axle ID No. and your VIN. They can give you the axle build sheet for your axles and it lists all the part numbers. Any parts store can cross reference those numbers. This is good for brakes, bearings, seals, etc.

    Two Batteries in Parallel Questions

If you are going the cheap route, go with 2 GC-2's instead of two 12V marine batteries. If you are going the medium price route (true deep cycle lead acid, I.E. Trojan) 6V vs 12V is a toss up. Same thing can be said for High-end AGM's.

    Cyclone 4200 Inverter

Am I crazy or am I seeing two AC connections coming out of his inverter and into the J-box? Then 2-in / 2-out of the J-box. What else would explain his TV's and Microwave having power while not connected to shore power nor with the generator running. It sounds like CW has admitted to having...

    Magnum MS2012 Install

    Cyclone 4100 King - 1/2 bath

That was always my thoughts too. It already has all the necessary components for a w/d. H/C water, electrical, and an independent gray water tank. Over the Air (OTA) TV antenna still useful?

Digital OTA is often better than even satellite HD. A lot of people won't believe that, but I can flip back and forth at home and OTA is a noticeably better picture. OTA will also work when satellite goes out, due to approaching storms.

Thoughts on adding a bed mounted tool-fuel box ?

I had a L-shaped 60 Gal RDS in my Chevy and l liked it a lot. It fit under my R-K toolbox. When I traded it for the F350 DRW, I had a 67 gal Titan OEM replacement installed by the dealer, and it was even better. The computer gets re-programmed so the gauge and MTE calculations are correct...
