2015 Goshen Rally - Discussion Thread

Re: EVENT: North American Heartland Rally: IN, Goshen - 6/16/2015 to 6/21/2015 What kind of pricing, if you could just give a ballpark figure would be fine. Just trying to budget for the trip and we have quite a few things lined up already to do. I'm not even sure if they could do this at the...

2015 Goshen Rally - Discussion Thread

Re: EVENT: North American Heartland Rally: IN, Goshen - 6/16/2015 to 6/21/2015 Is it possible to add on to a current 4 point Level-Up system and turn it into a 6 point? Possibly with remote? As well as keeping the rear electric stabilizers? I have a from the factory 4pt Auto Level on the Key Largo.

2015 Goshen Rally - Rally Specials

Re: Lippert Special Add-On - Alumi-Tread Quad Step I might as well get on the list as well :) I was just looking at our steps the other day thinking of changing and or wrapping them in some sort of non-skid material and then I come across this thread.

    The Talleys 3950FB Mods

Re: Main Bath Mods I just picked up the same one 3 days ago. The original Oxygenics developed a small crack so I was about to purchase the same replacement model but picked up the Fury model instead. I think it's a better showerhead.

    Synthetic Oil

RAM does note a 15,000 mile interval, Powerstroke at 10,000 mile and DuraMax I believe is around 10,000 also but I failed to find it in writing. I'd be interested to know if many forum members push 10k mile or more, oil changes just out of curiosity. If so are you doing this is 100+ deg heat...

    Synthetic Oil

I'm with BrianHarrison, I usually change right around 7,000 usually 6,500. I run 12qts of Mobil1 100% Synth 5W-40 and 1 qt of Lucas 100% Synth Oil Stabilizer. Does it make a difference adding the Lucas? I'm not sure, just got in the habit of doing it on the '07 F350 and still do it on both...

Tail of The Dragon US 129

I've been down this road a few times and I have the t-shirt. The turns are tight.... I mean TIGHT. Any kind of RV you're pulling, even a little MPG, when turning you're going to cross over into the other lane and a full size 5th wheel you'll be taking up both lanes completely and most are...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

This is true, if you have taken a CHL class or any introduction to handguns course, One of the main points they teach you is to be aware of what is around you, your target and what is beyond your target. I'd also suggest every few months to stop by a range and fire off a magazine or two. It...

A very inexpensive way to improve RV park WiFi

Look into Ubiquiti if you're a park owner looking to improve your WiFi service or even for your RV or Home. I have their access points in our clinics and we could have close to 75-100 devices/day. Rock solid system. The range is great, the throughput is great.

Congrats guys on the getting your new home away from and welcome to the Heartland family. It's a great community to be in. My 1st suggestion, find the first rally near you and go. You'll meet some of the nicest people educated in more ways than you can shake a stick at. Again welcome and please...

    Officially moving to Tennessee!

We rented a big cabin for the family last June most of the kids were absolutely amazed. Beautiful country in the Gatlinburg, Sevierville area. Take a trip down the Tail of the Dragon too, that is one windy road, I wouldn't do it with trailer in tow. Also the Dam from The Fugitive movie is right...

    Bathroom Backsplash

First-Timers Orientation Meeting during National Rally - ideas?

I like the idea of the 1st timers meeting, we would be there for sure and having a newbie badge of honor to wear could be a good idea. It would definitely make it easier to identify if we (newbs) knew others were also 1st timers this may cause us to start conversations or talk to each other...

WTB: 2011-2015 Super Duty Step Tailgate

I did have the pressure switch die on me but I'm still running on the original bags and I still have that annoying squeak. I was actually going to get under the truck this weekend and remove, grease and replace every bolt in the rear suspension then winter came to N.Texas. Hopefully this week...

I think there may be a reason for that, I tried looking R4Tech up just a week or two ago because I thought I remembered seeing a new bag setup and it seems they went belly up, I couldn't find anything but install manuals. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I've been keeping an eye on...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Favorite small carry is my Kimber 1911 .380 My other is a Kimber 1911 full size .45ACP which is much heavier, colder and tougher to conceal, I may not always have it on me but it's close by. Both have Crimson Trace laser grips. The picture is my "travel case", usually take that to dads house.

Just looking for someone that may have gotten a Super Duty with the tailgate with step built in. The ideal color would be Tuxedo Black but really any of them would do. Even some sort of trade with someone that doesn't want the step but a lighter tailgate. Mine is Tuxedo Black with camera. TX...

    Half-ton trucks towing 5th wheels?

It's sad but these are the things that finally got me thinking more. I was the one with a F350 SRW towing a toy hauler that was too big for the truck and it wasn't until we had a close call ONE TIME to open my eyes. I later went and got a DRW and a smaller RV and from the first hook-up I could...

    Rotating Tires on a DRW

If you want a quick "driveway" rotation then on most duallys you're stuck with just switching from left to right, no front to back. I did that for a while and when the fronts started wearing more than the rears I had the tires dismounted and remounted in different positions.

    Tow capacity-Really?

The engine is "almost" never the issue when determining what it can pull. On TV they showed a Toyota pulling a Space Shuttle. The only time it really matters is if something unplanned happens. If there is any accident, it doesn't take a detective to crunch 2-3 different numbers and find out...

What 2014 diesel truck and SRW or DRW ?

The SRW will give you 1000-1500lbs of breathing room, the DRW will give you another 5,000lbs, give or take a little. Now this is dry weights on the truck and trailer, so once you factor in full of fuel, passengers, clothes, whatever else you load up it can be rather close. I know some "have...
