Thanks for your reply. I am wondering if we should see how bad we really need the 2nd AC. I just thought from reading the posts on this forum that we would probably need a second AC.
Did you find that you needed the 2nd AC in 90+ temperatures? Gee.....6 to 8 inches of clearance under...
We have a Grand Canyon. What is the height of the trailer with the 2nd AC unit installed over the bedroom. Will there be height issues, or will the trailer still be under the legal height?.
Could someone with a 2nd AC unit give advice? We are concerned that we will need the 2nd unit when...
We also have a 2005 Grand Canyon. I will agree wih Denny and Rosa that I like the design of the 2005 better than the 2006. The appliance garage cabinet fits flush with the other cupboards and does not set out as the 2006 does. I also like that the TV in the livingroom is higher instead of...
The rally should be GREAT fun. We can hardly wait. It should be fun to hear about others experience. I can imagine that people might wonder what you are doing. I like your idea of the clip board to make yourself look "official". ;)
We have read about Geocaching.
Website http://www.geocaching.com/
Has anyone on this forum tried it? If so, what GPS are you using. We would love to see a thread started and hear of your experience. It sounds like fun.
The dealer installed a Surge Guard - model # 40240. It protects against surges and also if the power drops which can also damage appliances. There is also a bypass offered along with a delay. Here is the website http://www.surgeguard.com/
We had a surge protector added inside our unit by the dealer when we purchased it. As was stated earlier, the cost of the protector will be worth the headache of replacing electrical appliances.
Thanks everybody for your help.....
We run our DRW when pulling at 65 rear and the front at 60. The truck door post states 65 as max. This is what the Dodge dealer suggested. I think we will try the weighing as stated above to see what that would suggest.
We have a Dodge 3500 dually. What tire pressure do you run when towing?? What pressure do you feel gives you the best gas milage when towing? Steering tire pressure ??? and rear dual tires??
We find the forum VERY informative. It is a quick way to get and answer to questions we have about our Landmark. I also enjoy the "Ask the Factory" where Scott answers our questions.
Keep up the good work, Jim.
Thanks everybody for your help. Our trailer was made last April 2005, so it must have been made before the manual drain became standard. We drained all water we could get out by running the pump and then we poured about a gallon of antifreeze directly into the fresh water tank so I think...
Hi Scott,
We have a 2005 Grand Canyon. I read in this forum that the Grand Canyon has a manual fresh water drain, besides the power drain. I find nothing mentioned in my owners manual of a "manual drain". Are they speaking of the one valve that is in a vertical position when power pumping...
We have a Grand Canyon 2005 also. We never found a manual drain on our coach. Where did you find it? We did pour about a gallon of antifreeze into the fresh water tank thru the tank fill opening. Please tell us where the bottom manual drain is ??
We have pulled with a short box SRW and a long box DRW. With the short box we experienced much more jerking than a long box. Are you pulling with a short box truck?
We have a 2005 Dodge 3500 diesel- 4.10 RE - 6 speed -Jake Brake. DRW. It handles the Grand Canyon very nice. Before the DRW, we had a 2004 Dodge SRW. The DRW provides MUCH MORE STABILITY. After pulling with the DRW, we would never go back to the SRW for a heavy trailer.
We found when...
You are correct about the hitch issue. You must watch very close when turning tight especially if your truck and trailer are not on the same level. The end of our hitch made a tiny scratch on the inside bed rail, but I saw what was happening and stopped just in the nick of time. It would be...
Hi Jim,
You did a very nice job planning the agenda. It should be a great time and we are looking forward to meeting other Heartland owners.
Our registration form was mailed this morning. See you all there.
We have the DRW Dodge with 6 speed and Jake Brake. The Jake Brake was put on by the Dodge dealership when we bought the new truck and did not void the warranty. In mountains or big hills I would Not BE WITHOUT IT. It makes driving a pleasure.
The rally sounds like fun and the Elkhart Fairground looks like a nice place to have it.
Probably the June date would be better than August because August in Indiana can be very hot.
The power drain hose on the Grand Canyon is located to your left when facing the UDC, which would be to the front of the wheels. The 2 hoses in question are behind the wheels. I suppose they are some sort of "overflow" type drainage hose. We would just like to know what they are for so we don't...
We have a 2005 Grand Canyon. There are 2 small drain hoses coming from the underbelly located in the area behind the wheels on the drivers side of the trailer. We have checked our Users Manual and can't find what the hoses are suppose to drain.
The last time we raised the front of the trailer...
Our refrigerator is located in the slide-out part of our Landmark. We noticed some wasp flying at the top vent, so we removed to put some spray at the opening to keep them out.
When opening the UPPER VENT, there is white fiberglass insulation in front of the vent opening. I wonder if this...
We are also going to Lake Chippewa Campground
Hi Jim,
We picked up our new GC on May 5th. We just love it. We are busy with starting to pack our household posessions into the trailer and putting the rest in storage. Our home has sold and we will be closing on July 22nd and then we are off...
We have a Grand Canyon on order for the middle to end of May delivery. We will be pulling with a 2005 Dodge DRW 4x4 4.10 rear Deisel 6 speed - Jake Brake (the exhaust brake was installed by the Dodge Dealer) From my research this vehicle will be fine to pull the GC and our goods.
This truck...
Rail height on 2005 Dodge 4x4 question
We have a Dodge 2005 diesel 4x4 DRW 1 ton. The rail height at the trailgate is 58 inches. What is the height on the 4x2 that you own and what will your rail clearance be when pulling the Landmark?
Thanks
