I went over all the caulking on mine when we got it home. The top rear edge of the roof corner was wide open. I could see the inside of the wall and the plywood backing. it had been open for about 2-3 weeks from factory to our home. its been 2 years and there has been no signs of long term...
Just figured out how to do this for next season. I'm going to cut out an opening under the side of the bed to slide laundry baskets underneath. We never store anything under the bed anyway. Slide the baskets out when you put clothes in and there out of the way till we get home
I was at the local dealer recently and saw brand new units with the same water damaged areas on the small slide outs. Must be a common problem when building the units
Ive got a 2011 28BRS and we tow it with a 2002 avalanche Z71. Me the wife and 2 kids with all kinds of stuff loaded up. bikes on the rear rack and a canoe on the roof of the truck. its pretty much maxed out right now but it does the job.
My 28BRS leaked too from new. I had to reseal all the caulked edges and underneith as well. I also took out all the screws and replaced them with stainless ones and put sealant in each hole. no leaks since. Ive seen others at the dealers with the same area leaking.
I have a 2011 28BRS. It also has bad tire wear on the insides but also overall wear for only 2 years old and maybe 2500 miles on them. I think the problem is also because of 1-- the cheap offshore bias ply tires and 2-- the spread on the wide trax axles. I believe they make the trailer alot...
I also had a leak in the same area. I recaulked the silde out and changed all the screws to stainless ones and caulked them as well. I retaped the bottom corners and so far no problems
Checkerplate box looks great. Not sure if i have that much room. I need something 18-19 inches wide and 36-42 long. I may go with a rubbermaid tote and secure the lid on the ends with tie down straps
Has anyone seen or ever thought of putting a storage box behind the propane tanks? I was thinking of moving the tanks ahead and buying a rubbermaid tough tote. Fastening it to the frame and isolating the battery to one side of it and have the other end sealed off for storage. I know it willl...
I have the exact same leak on our 2011 28BRS. Same bottom corner. Just working on resealing and eternabond taping the bottom corners. I think thats where the problem is. Nothing worse than a leak. Always in the back of your mind when it rains. Had to trade our 2006 Funfinder in on this one...
I have a 28BRS and have piled 3 adult bikes and one childs bike on the rear rack with no problems. Driven over 5-6 hrs never looking back and there always still tight when i get there. I use a couple quick pull tie down straps around each bike frame to the post or rear bumper. I think it...
Where to put the laundry basket?? Anyone thought of making a laundry shoot with some kind of trap door into the front storage compartment? Toss all the dirty laundry down the shoot into a basket.
I think Lippert components makes them. I have them on my 2011 28BRS. The front and rear are on seperate rocker switches for up and down. Both sides do go down together and once both legs contact the ground they apply pressure. But they are still only stablizers not levelers. They also have a...
Do you tie it down with just the straps or with something else ? Just scared its gonna rub on the gel coat. Also do you put styrafoam around antennas or gutter spouts ? My size at camping world was 419 and free shipping. Haven't looked in Canada for it yet.
I live in southern Ontario. And we get some snow. Not all winter , we get snow and then a thaw cycle . Thinking about getting a cover but will snow on top hurt anything ?
I have the same trailer and they are very low to the ground. I have shaved the dirt a couple times when backing into some campsites. Have you ever thought about flipping the axles to underneath the springs. That would give you more clearance. I am very careful when I go into and out of parking lots.
I lean the bikes on the upright post and stager them. I wrap a bungee cord around the frames to the upright post. And 1 tie down strap on each end of the bike to the hitch pin holes on the rack. Works great.
I use a Equalizer E4 WD hitch. It works great. No sway ever even in strong crosswinds. Easy setup and simple to hitch and unhitch. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. They have their own website.
Our water tank fill is on the vehicle passenger side. All Ontario Provincial parks have Drive through areas for filling tanks but there on the drivers side. Their hoses have a spout on the end so you cant hook your own hose to it. Any Ideas on how to fill it. I dont like to drive with the...
You need to take speaker A or B off the DVD player and hook it into the TVs Audio IN. You will have to cut and splice the dvd speaker wire to RCA cables. Then when the kids are sleeping throw a movie in hit Speaker A or B whichever you wired it to and presto. Quiet TV sound .
Knock on wood ours is still good. I just need to rewire it so we can watch a DVD and listen throught the TV speakers. For when its raining and the kids are sleeping
