    Quality Control

Well I have to eat a bit of crow, but not much. There is a pull handle for the rear galley. It's not beside the outlet and you won't see it bending down to look at the outlet pipe. You have bend down further, look back upwards behind some wiring and built right into the I beam is a valve coming...

    Dissapointed...

I can relate to Hank's issues. Mid year changes are not popular with consumers. It's like looking at car in a brochure and saying order me the red one and then getting a green one because they ran out of red paint. That happened to me on the decor trim in the interior. Also an "oh yeah" on the...

    Quality Control

I am glad to see it's not just me. These are all correctable issues, but some are so obvious that they shouldn't leave factory. I think all manufacturers do it. I have heard stories of where they would run out of electrical wire for a line they were making, so they would just not connect the...

    Quality Control

Let me first say that I enjoy my new 2011 3000RK and overall it seems solid and well built. Where Heartland is making a big mistake is the apparent lack of quality assurance checks before the units leave the factory. I have gotten a number of "Surprises" over the past few weeks that make me...

    Battery wire

I just got my new 3000RK and am adding a Trimetric battery monitor. It appears it will be an easy installation. I was afraid with all the enclosed areas, that running a wire back into the main portion of the trailer would be difficult to fish. I need to mount a shunt next to the battery at the...

    Recommended distance above truck bed

Thanks all...I will strive for 6" if I can...my truck sinks when the Fifth wheel is on it and I raise it up again with air bags. I haven't had a chance to measure the clearance yet, but think it's between 5 and 6 now (eyeballing it). If it's low, I will raise my hitch up a notch and compensate...

    Recommended distance above truck bed

HI; Can anyone tell me what distance I should strive for between a fifth wheel underside that rests over the truck bed and the sides of the truck itself.? I have heard at least 6"

    Hitch question

You need to look at the Ford ratings a bit closer, they give two ratings for every configuration. You don't know my truck configuration. My truck is rated to tow 11, 100 lbs, so unless you own Ford, your assessment is pretty inaccurate. Also why would I carry firewood? It's heavy...it's cheaper...

    Hitch question

Thanks to those that answered the question I asked. I am hesitant to respond to the truck size versus trailer size. I have mentioned this on other forums and everyone is an expert, yet I got very wide ranging answers. My F-150 , as equipped, is rated to tow 11,100 lbs. the 3000 RK is about...

    Fifth Wheel Hitch Position

I am eagerly awaiting my new SD3000RK. In preparation, I am having my fifth wheel hitch installed soon and am wondering where in the truck bed, should the hitch be positioned so that I get the 88 degrees. My assumption right now it that the kingpin should rest over the axle...or is there a...
